AI-Equipped Fully Automatic Washing Machine (AI搭載型全自動洗濯機 AI Tōsai-gata Zenjidōsentakuki?) is a state-of-the-art washing machine manufactured in Academy City. One was delivered to the Necessarius Women's Dormitory as a gift after their old has fallen into disuse. It appears often to show Kanzaki Kaori's attachment to it.[1]

PrinciplesEdit

As stated, it is a fully automatic washing machine equipped with AI. Smooth and sleak in appearance, it is also apparently can be equipped with earthquake and lightning reinforcements.[1]

When washing, the machine analyzes the components of what is being washed and automatically regulate the amount of water and detergent based on weight of the laundry. It fills, rinses, drains, and dries all on its own. It is made to run silently so it can also be used in the night, apparently able to manipulate the phons and decibels of the washing mechanism.[1]

The washing machine first appears in the dorm for the girls of Necessarius. The girls, especially Kanzaki, make several excuses on not to use the machine, such as lack of laundry, washing at night, and the complexity of the machine. However, Orsola Aquinas later forces her to use the obi of her yukata as the laundry for the machine to wash. Then, Sherry Cromwell then notes that the colors of her obi might fade because they did not separate it. In panic, Kanzaki tries to stop the machine but eventually decides to pound it, forcing the machine to spout out the water on Kanzaki.[1]

As two great Churches discuss their position in the War that is about to come. The machine stays in the changing room, here, early in the morning, Agnese Sanctis tries to force a futon into the machine, and prays the price as it goes haywire, and is half in tears in the changing room. But her mood completely changes as Orsola Aquinas tell that it's time for breakfast, speeding away from the changing room, and later joining Lucia, Angelene, and the rest of the Agnese forces in the dining hall. As food is prepared, Kanzaki talks about the problematic washing machine, but Agnese tries to change the subject, telling her that they should focus on the food.[2]

Later, when Agnese tries to check up on the washing machine again, she lets out a cry, forcing Kanzaki to investigate. Kanzaki, annoyed with what happened to her during the day, believes it would be better to chop the thing in two so it would stop causing problems. However, to her surprise, despite doing it so loudly as well as the fact that the futon is beyond what the machine should normally wash, the machine continues to try and wash the futon. Seeing this, Kanzaki is amazed and her rage subsides, to the point where she imagines that the washing machine can speak, saying "Kanzaki-san, I did it." (神裂さん。俺、ちゃんとやりましたよ?)[3]
