Agata (アガター Agatā?) is a minor character in Toaru Majutsu no Index, and is a Roman Catholic Church nun who is a member of the paramilitary force know as Agnese Forces, which is led by her friend Agnese Sanctis.
Appearance[]
She is a bespectacled young woman with blue eyes and long brown hair. Her build and stature is similar to that of Lucia.
Background[]
She was an orphan and was taken in by the Roman Catholic Church to be raised as a nun by them, here, she was acquainted with Agnese Sanctis, Lucia and Angelene.[1]

Orsola Aquinas Rescue Arc[]

Agata is seen among the nuns that compose the Agnese Forces.[2] It is not shown what exactly happened to her in the battle against the Amakusa Christians, but it can be assumed that she actively performed in the battle, ultimately surrendering when their leader Agnese Sanctis is defeated by Kamijou Touma.
La Regina del Mare Adriatico Arc[]

As a punishment decreed by the Roman Catholic Church, she alongside all of the members of the Agnese Forces and several other subjects are taken to the Queen's Fleet of La Regina del Mare Adriatico, although she did not receive the same treatment as sisters Lucia and Angelene.
She became the helmsman of ice ship #47 during the La Regina del Mare Adriatico's mobilization along with its fleet. As the helmsman, she performed the duties of patrolling nearby areas for incoming attacks and is required to report to Bishop Biagio Busoni regularly.
Upon the attack of the Amakusa Christians, she reported directly to Bishop Busoni, and was instrumental in keeping them at bay during their attack on the fleet. Though, she is later tricked by the Amakusa's tactics during battle, allowing to them to board the ships.[3]
British Royal Family Arc[]

Agata is later seen helping Agnese and her fellow nuns investigate one of New Light's hideouts. She helps identify the teleportaive nature of the cases which New Light is using to pass around Curtana Original.[4]

Coronzon Arc[]

During the Crowley's Hazard invasion of the United Kingdom, Agata was present when the Agnese Forces fought on the frontline at the Strait of Dover. After receiving a car lift from Hamazura Shiage and Takitsubo Rikou along with several others, she made it to the group's meeting at the British Museum after the fall of the England-Londinium Fortress.[5]
Shortly after the events concerning Isis-Demeter and the events which transpired unknown to them in Westminster Abbey, she saw the car leaving in hurry, remembering and bringing up too late the fact that it was likely stolen.[6]
Abilities[]
She is shown to be capable of enough on taking the wheel of a large ice ship on her own, and command her own subordinates.[3]

- Agata's VA, Fuchigami Mai, also voices Uragami in the Toaru Majutsu no Index II anime.
