Flack Anchors (フラック＝アンカース Furakku Ankāsu?) is a member of the magic cabal Dusk Waiting to Awaken, who appears in Toaru Majutsu no Index SS: Necessarius Special Admission Test.[1]

Flack has short brown hair, whitening at the back towards his neck, and wears a simple black cassock.[2]

Background[]
In the past, Flack had pursued a certain goal as a magician and having spoken of that dream, a large number of people had decided to follow him to that dream, pledging their lives and futures to him as subordinates. Flack eventually learned that he could not achieve his initial goal, but could not cast it aside due to his dream being shared with his followers. As giving up on their dream or fruitlessly pursuing their goal on their own were not options for them, Flack decided to take another approach; to get close to a more powerful magician heading in a similar direction and support them to reach their dream.[3]

Abilities[]
Flack and his subordinates use spiritual items fashioned after hunting rifles, with the mechanism made into a rotating cylinder like a revolver.[4] The tubes of the gun barrels are designed to produce multiple, consecrated chords, and together, the rifles form a pipe organ to create a spell which attacks anyone who hears the sound.[5] In order to prevent his enemies from figuring out the principles of his spell, Flacks makes use of meaningful-sounding incantations, hints relating to the Son of God's execution and nail-like bullets, as a decoy to hide the truth.[5]
The rifles can also be used to transmit information via the sounds of the gunshots.[6]

Appearing in only a single volume so far, Flack's design remains the same throughout the series. Haimura avoided giving him too much characterization as it was important for him to be "one member of an orchestra" or "one among many".[2]
