"If I Had Been Stronger" (力があればなんてのは Chikara ga Areba Nante no wa?) is the 22nd chapter of the Astral Buddy manga, released in two parts on August 27th and September 27th 2019.
Synopsis[]
Due to Misaki momentarily immobilizing Gunha using Mental Out, the fight between Sogiita Gunha and Hokaze Junko ends with a draw as well as a gesture of understanding between two strong individuals. Misaki is quick to separate Junko from Gunha, but Junko feels more at ease after the fight with Gunha due to being able to understand the nature of her esper ability. As Misaki and Kuroko interrogate Gunha, the ghost girl uses the opportunity to introduce herself as a girl from Junko's past, something that Junko also realized. The ghost girl also revealed that aside from knowing about Junko's growth as an individual, she also "witnessed" the death of Toomine Kanari, something that had left Junko with remorse for not being able to be strong enough. Misaki comforts Junko by assuring her that people have their moments of weakness.
With Misaki finally finding out Junko's deepest worries, Junko then asks the ghost girl about what she wants to do as soon as she returns to her body now that they are aware that she is still alive. She agrees to buy the ghost girl some clothes, but the topic switches to Junko's attachment to her Gekota-themed bra that's too small for her size. Then, their banter is interrupted by something that rumbles above them.
