The Doll Museum (人形館 Ningyō-kan?), secretly known as the Secret Prison (秘匿監獄 Hitoku Kangoku?), is a museum in Academy City.

Appearance[]

The museum is described as a perfect cubic structure that resembled a dice and located on the center of the leveled off and polished granite ground.[1] Inside of the Doll Museum, a giant vault is located in the underground.[1] In case of fire or riot, a safe and long tunnel to the secret prison is hidden which did not exist on the maps. The prison is placed on the both sides of the hallway with sparkling obsidian-like doors.[2] Each cell has LCD blinds, a door and a bed.[3]

Principles[]

Doll Museum[]

The Doll Museum collects valuable dolls from around the world and their technological information. It sets aside all speculation, rumors, and preconceptions to study the origins of and changes in the dolls that have remained by mankind’s side for so long. It also demonstrates the dolls of a new era using models made with 3D printers and holomodels that can be touched and held thanks to the tactile feedback of an electronically controlled suit.[4] The museum is protected with unnecessarily thick walls, a complex system of doors, and patrolling guards.[1]

Secret Prison[]

The hidden face of the Doll Museum is the unofficial Secret Prison that closes people in a giant vault. Academy City of course has its official prison, but special prison is built for certain cases of incidents that cannot be made public or do not have time to go through the official process.[1]

The Doll Museum had chosen as the place for Tokiwadai Middle School's Social Studies Field Trip. Misaki approached Shokuhou Misaki to rescue her creator.[4] The two succeeded in reaching the professor, however after the old woman explained the project and its reasons, her subordinate shot Shokuhou Misaki.[1] The professor and her subordinate then escaped so the professor could carry out her final project, abandoning her creation.[2][3] However, Shokuhou Misaki had used Mental Out on the subordinate beforehand and put paint-bullets in his gun instead.[5]

After catching up with the professor, Shokuhou Misaki trapped professor in an illusion and had her explain the purpose of the Urban Processor to her. Rejecting the professor's reasoning and knowing the dangers the Urban Processor could bring, Misaki chose to destroy it.[6] After the incident, Tokiwadai's Social Studies Field Trip to doll museum was cancelled. Students of Tokiwadai Middle School visited an aquarium instead and Shokuhou Misaki gave an introductory speech as a representative.[7]
