Background[]
This section requires expansion GT3 - Kihara infiltration and motivations, artificial ghost research[1] |
As part of his ghost research, Drencher visited many so-called 'haunted locations' worldwide, revealing the scientific cause of the strange phenomena occurring in those places and later artificially recreating them for his purposes,[3] research which would eventually lead to the creation of Frillsand #G through High Voltage Cutting.[4][3][1]

Abilities[]
A researcher specializing in ghosts, Drencher was an expert at revealing the scientific cause of strange phenomena at various 'haunted locations' around the world and artificially recreating the phenomena for his own use.[3]
Drencher developed artificial ghost technology, used to produce his greatest creation Frillsand #G, which is based on a method known as High Voltage Cutting (ハイボルテージ=カッティング法 Haiborutēji Kattingu-hō?, lit. "High voltage cutting method").[4][13][14] The method uses principles similar to those responsible shock diamonds, ion sheathes and cavitation,[4][13] with a constant emission of powerful energy eventually creating irregular waveforms and images while interfering or overlapping with itself,[4][13] and that phenomena being intentionally created and manipulated in order to make something nonexistent appear in the physical world.[4][13] In describing the principles, Frillsand herself noted that the most common types of haunted locations (e.g. old homes full of drafts, cliffs and caves eroded by waves, mountain roads late at night etc) were often full of noise (e.g. static electricity, pressure differences, creaking rusty doors, the rustling of trees in the wind etc),[14] with a passing reference to the idea of hearing a ghostly voice in the crackle of excess electricity or in the roar of hydrogen gas being ignited.[14]
The power source that Drencher used for the foundation of Frillsand #G is a 'civilization battery', energy present on the scale of a metropolis,[14][13] constructed from a combination of copper, zinc and other metals present where people live,[14][13] and acid rain produced by carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide constantly produced by human society.[14][13][14] By absorbing power from a 'battery' the size of a city or greater,[14][13] a single outlier point was constructed within the stable energy.[14] Frillsand has been said to be capable of existing so long as human civilization exists and not cease unless it is eliminated.[4][13] Artificial ghosts produced by High Voltage Cutting are existences of unstable electrical energy,[4][13][14] described as physical phenomenon electrically explainable and supported by chemistry and physics, and are apparently not suspectible to Imagine Breaker.[12][14] Being collections of electrical energy, they are capable of shocking and burning in a similar manner,[14] and being supported by electricity, they have corresponding weaknesses, such as being affected by electromagnetic pulses and similar electromagnetic wave emissions.[15] As masses of unstable strong power, they are the opposite of aggregations of weak powers such as AIM diffusion fields, resulting in incompatibility and malfunctions when the two come together.[4][14]
Drencher was even able to incorporate several special traits into the design of Frillsand #G which have been associated with ghosts.[5][4][11][12] As an incorporeal ghost, she can pass through physical objects and vice versa, but she also cannot touch them.[5][12] Reproducing the harm that is said to befall those who encounter ghosts, she can remotely and continually damage living people who encounter her if they see her,[5][9][4][12] with sensors affixed to Drencher and the children in his care for selective targetting.[4][3] In a similar manner, she can induce malfunctions in mechanical lenses and sensors, preventing them from properly recognizing her.[5][16][4]
