"Director" (院長 Inchō?) is the 101st chapter of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga series was released on January 27th 2018.
Synopsis[]
Director Kyougoku's celebration inside the control center is interrupted by his assistant relaying news of a successful breach of the outside wall. This is made possible by Mikoto asking for help from other participants, formulating a plan that involved the use of Kongou's Aero Hand, the Powered Suits of the robotics club members, and the sheer power of Mikoto's own Railgun. This creates a breach that is quickly plugged in by the logs used by Kongou earlier, which are then destroyed by another Railgun shot. Meanwhile, Kyougoku's assistant also reports an entirely separate group that has scaled the outer wall one minute before the successful wall breach. This group is entirely made up of members of the Kouga school of ninjutsu.
A massive pileup is created by people who quickly discovered the hole created by Mikoto's breach attempt. Mikoto and the others manage to cross into the inner wall safely, except for Uiharu who is still stuck with the pile of participants wanting to enter the breach. As Mikoto, Kuroko and Saten rush further inside, Scavenger emerges from the trees inside. With the AIM Jammers inside making their abilities unusable, Leader decides on three ways to win the jailbreak event: an independent victory; assisting another team; and stealing the win from another team. In whichever case, Leader wants Yakumaru to help Mikoto, knowing that she has the biggest odds of attaining the objective of the event.
Elsewhere, Mikoto reveals a compressed air gun she received from the robot club after the successful breach. Knowing that Kuroko is the only one among the three who had received firearms training, Mikoto then gives the gun to her. To their surprise, a dog-like robot with Kyougoku's face appears along their path, causing Kuroko to fire the gun's only shot at the robot.

- A group composing of members of the Kouga school of ninjutsu successfully scaled the outer wall before Mikoto's breach.
- Scavenger, revealed to be one of the participants, crossed into the inner wall and formulated a plan that would ensure their chances to meet the vague objective of the jailbreaker event.

Trivia[]
- Seike and Naru wear the same school uniform.
- Naru is shown to be barefoot (and wearing Seike's uniform) because the AIM Jammer is messing up her powers. However, in page 18 she is seen wearing shoes, but the pages after that show her barefoot again.
- The cover at the end of the chapter in the tankobon release revealed that Tessou Tsuzuri is Fusou Ayame's teacher.[1]

- The quadrupedal robot with Kyougoku's face which Kuroko ran into resembles a jinmenken, a dog with a human face featured in Japanese urban legends.
