Black Hole (黒洞 Kokutōtō?) is the 126th chapter of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga series, was released on July 27th 2020 in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh.
Synopsis[]
As the dragon once more emerges, Kimi begins to show struggle to control it. Mikoto then defends herself from the intense black lightning unleashed by the dragon's power. Meanwhile, Aohoshi clears out the control room, allowing Uiharu to work with the encrypted data obtained by Tsurigane. After effortlessly breaking through the encryption, Uiharu looks into the data log and discovered the progress of research into speculating that Kimi is a holistic esper capable of generating a black hole lasting a small fraction of a second in a location up to millions of light years away... and is a potential 9th Level 5. The data log mentions that while the black hole can be used to create a wormhole to another part of the universe, her ability is too difficult to control and may destroy the Earth and the whole Solar System.
With time running out and seeing a connection between the dragon and Saten's worsening condition, Uiharu tests the effect of the long-ranged AIM Jammers on Kimi's dragon. Both Uiharu and Mikoto determine that the dragon is not connected to Kimi at all, while Uiharu realizes that the black hole generated by Kimi's ability is being used as an energy source of the dragon.
Knowing that no esper can separate a black hole from a dragon, Uiharu decides that the only way is to create an esper that can. As she focuses the long-range AIM Jammers into her current location, Uiharu continues to work on the computers, manifesting an unusual change as she does.
Major Events[]
- As Mikoto continues her battle with Kimi, whose body has been warped by her dragon, Uiharu breaks the encryption on the research data. She and Aohoshi learn that Kimi's esper ability involves the creation of black holes somewhere in the universe, the benefits and risks of which divided the researchers.
- With Saten's condition deteriorating, Uiharu turns the long-range AIM Jammers towards Kimi and finds the dragon to be separate from Kimi's power. Figuring that the dragon is using a black hole as an energy source, not knowing of any esper with the power to separate the dragon from Kimi and with little time left, Uiharu decides to try creating a power which could. As the jammers turn towards the guard building, a change comes over her.

- A black hole is a region known for having an amount of gravity so great that even light cannot escape from it. Black holes are also known in theoretical physics for being speculated to be possibly used to travel from one place to another (aka a wormhole).
- Lagrange points are specific points of equilibrium on small-sized objects affected by the gravity of two massive bodies. The Sun-Earth Lagrange Point L5 has stable equilibrium and contains interplanetary dust at least two asteroids.
