One of Grapple's products is a brand of smartphone called the MilliPhone (ミリフォン Mirifon?).[1] There are several models of MilliPhone,[1][3] such as the MilliPhone 15 High End (ミリフォン15ハイエンド Mirifon 15 Haiendo?).[3] MilliPhones are rumored to have an obsolescence system called Telomere (寿命機能テロメア Jumyō Kinō (Teromea)?).[4]

Grapple also sells a smartwatch which functions in conjunction with the MilliPhone, simplifying phone operations and monitoring the wearer's health.[2][5] The smartwatch uses a short-range wireless signal to sync with a phone, and if access to the phone is lost, it sends out a signal to automatically search for it.[5] The only functions known to work without access to the synced phone are the time and a blood pressure check.[2]

At least some of Grapple's products, include MilliPhones and tablets, have voice-command functions and run an AI known as Seri (セリ Seri?).[6][7]

Grapple's logo is an apple with lines, resembling a hand holding something, and a stem in the shape of a stylized 'g', sometimes used on its own.[1][8]

Background[]

At some point in the recent past, when Aradia had an old lady perish in her hands as a result of modern-day witch persecution, a nearby billboard was advertising the autumn release of Grapple's MilliPhone 15 High End.[3]

Melzabeth Grocery - Chapters/Parts[1]

Harvas Spring had a MilliPhone, which his daughter apparently loved more than him, and was using it when he travelled to Los Angeles before getting caught up in the mass disappearance.[7] His daughter would later request one of her own when his wife Monoetta Spring headed out for LA.[9]

Melzabeth Grocery made use of a reduced-spec MilliPhone and associated smartwatch, which were found by Kamijou Touma and had clues which he used to follow her trail, finding her daughter Helcalia Grocery in the process.[2][10][11][5] Her use of a rival company's products over an R&C Occultics model indicated her distrust of the company to Touma, a fact he used in his efforts to convince Helcalia of her mother's innocence.[5][12]

A Grapple shop full of MilliPhones in LA would also be struck by one of Citrinitas's attacks on Touma's group, prompting a remark from Touma.[2] The company was also briefly mentioned in the White House with regards to an amendment to the Patriot Act forbidding phones in a debate.[13]
