Iori Mashiro (亥織真白, Iori Mashiro^?) is a student of Tokiwadai Middle School who appears in Toaru Kagaku no Mental Out. She is a clique leader and one of the candidates for Tokiwadai's Student Council Election.

Iori greatly dislikes Shokuhou Misaki, resenting her growth in body and clique. She is prone to impatience and somewhat belligerent, being in favour of a prompt, violent approach at the candidate meeting, though she is not partial to excessive injury and bloodshed. Like most of the other election candidates, Iori was not willing to give up on her bid for student council presidency and support another's bid for the sake of stopping another one of her rivals. She has described herself as someone who hates losing.

Iori's background is mostly unknown, but she was established as a clique leader by the time of the student council presidential election. Her comments indicate that she was in that position when Shokuhou was still small and had just started her clique, and gained enmity for her as both she and her clique grew large.

Iori attended the meeting Kamino held with the other election candidates (with the exception of Inubushi, who ignored Kamino's invitation) about potential cooperation and courses of actions in response to their two main rivals in the competition joining forces, as Shokuhou Misaki and Gaouin Tsukasa were working together to find evidence that would exonerate Hokaze Junko.

She participated in the joint attack the candidates launched against Shokuhou and Gaouin, first remotely directing Tatsuki Mirei's attacks on the pair after Kamino had sealed off space and trapped them. With the initial attacks missing, she became impatient and contacted Tatsuki to change up their plan, bringing the water balls into action. Shortly afterwards, she observed a break in camera footage and considered the possibility of a third party acting.

She was subsequently proved right when Mei and Kii rescued Shokuhou from being drowned by one of the larger water balls. Focusing her attacks on the duo, Iori was eventually able to collapse the floor below them and seal it after they fell to end their invention. Immediately afterwards, she became mad and panicked when Tatsuki took the chance to attack Shokuhou and bloodily injured Gaouin's arm, contacting her to tell her off for acting on her own and causing more harm than they had planned, but was disregarded. She was further dismayed when Shokuhou managed to interfere with her water balls, when Tatsuki was revealed and mentioned her name in conversation as well, and when she violently resumed her attacks.

Abilities

Iori's ability allows her to remotely control water balls (sometimes referred to as slimes, gel or jelly by others), both many small ones and one larger one. The water balls are 0.9% saline, something speculated by Shokuhou Misaki to be a necessary part of her power. As a student of Tokiwadai Middle School, her ability can be presumed to be at Level 3 or 4.
