The two pillars are also associated with the two side pillars of the Sephiroth, the tree of life in Kabbalah, named the Pillar of Mercy (慈悲の柱?) and the Pillar of Severity (峻厳の柱?) after their central Sephirah (Chesed and Gevurah respectively). The white pillar Jachin is the Pillar of Mercy on the right side of the Sephiroth, with Chokhmah, Chesed and Netzach. The black pillar is the Pillar of Severity on the left side, with Binah, Gevurah and Hod.

During the Blue Research incident, Wyss Winered used the symbolism of Jachin and Boaz in her battle with Mark Space. Wearing a glove on her right hand (split down the center with a white right side and black left side) and two rings on her left hand (one with the letter B on her index finger, one with the letter J on her middle finger), she used the positions of her hands and entire body to represent the guideposts, altering the positions depending on the type of power she wanted to produce and eliminating a lot of effort needed to activate magic.[1]

At the Star of Bethlehem's ceremonial altar, there were several tens of pairs of poles containing black or white liquid, placed around the ceremonial ground and being paired together around the entrance as if drawing in energy from the outside, as part of the process for anchoring and maintaining Archangel Gabriel's existence for Fiamma of the Right's plans. They were targeted by Kamijou Touma when he arrived at the altar.[3]
