Matsusada (松定 Matsusada?) is a minor character introduced in Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index. He is a famous authority in the field of fluid mechanics that even children are aware of him. His theories on the Shading Computer, are later used by Yakumi Hisako in her ambitious Agitate Halation Project.

He is a famous scholar in the field of fluid mechanics in Academy City that even kids have heard of him. He has published the best seller The Future of Next-Generation Processors using Viscosity and Density where he relates the theories and applications of a Shading Computer, specifically using AIM produced by espers as a replacement for actual fluid.[1] He is also an expert programmer.[2]

He was most likely approached for the Agitate Halation Project, which allowed for the creation of the Shading Computer based on his theories and kickstarted the manipulation of AIM diffusion fields as it is used as its medium, and the creation of Fremea Seivelun being the target for protection by the "heroes" that was center of the project, and later, would allow Hisako to transfer her consciousness into Shading Computer.

Agitate Halation ArcEdit

Main article: Agitate Halation Arc

Realizing the horror he would unleash upon the City, Matsusada tries to illegally flee Academy City through School District 23. His plans are later brought into light and he is then forced to hide inside a business cargo collection lane in an airport. Yomikawa Aiho of Anti-Skill and Stephanie Gorgeouspalace a mercenary is called in to capture him alive. Stephanie makes quick work of his hiding place through the use of her Gatling guns and his possible modes of escape from the room.[2]

When confronted, Matsusada says that they do not understand what's going on, and accuses them of being affected by Agitate Halation already. He tries to tell them of his fearful situation, but he apparently used the hibernation drug Cp-191 on his person, making lose consciousness.[2] He is later taken to ICU, though no one doubts he will not wake up soon.[1]

  • (To Aiho and Stephanie, from NT 7): "I-I! I!! I know more than anyone just how frightening the ‘child’ I created is! How frightening a world without heroes is! Gh..gbh! I…"
