  • Just a head's up as our terms are outdated, and I think renaming should follow suit.

Two years ago, an anonymous person posted a question for js06 regarding the volume 16 translation: http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/73847273/#q73938868_442

"Just to confirm, Aqua uses a mace in Volume 16, not a rod right?
The term is メイス, so I assume it was lost in the translation to Chinese?

Also, 聖母の慈悲 for Divine Mother's Mercy/Virgin Mary Worship. Would Virgin Mary's Mercy be correct, or is Worship the correct term?"

    js06's response: http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/73847273/#q73938868_444

    "Mace is correct.

聖母の慈悲 does indeed mean Virgin Mary's Mercy. (聖母 literally means Divine Mother, but is the standard term for the Virgin Mary in Japanese.)
However, the term 聖母崇拝 meaning Virgin Mary Worship is also used in Volume 16 several times."

  • Hello, I wanted to ask you about the character Ridovia Lorenzetti, the LN has it as Lidovia instead. Is the reason why it's not an L a personal belief? didn't know which of the 3 to bring this too. so I randomized.

      Loading editor
    • I don't know the exact reason, but it is likely carried over from an earlier translation, one which used R rather than L (due to the circumstances regarding those two letters in Japanese).

        Loading editor
    • According to the actual Js06's translation, Lorenzetti's name is Lidvia, which is even an actually existing name, differently by Ridovia, that is a transliteration.

  • New terms from NT10 as listed in the atwiki: http://www12.atwiki.jp/index-index/pages/3235.html

      Loading editor
    • Sorry for the late reply. I was aware of the terms list but thanks for pointing it out anyway. I'm currently working on several drafts regarding the new terms, though they will not be posted on the main wiki until the whole novel is fully translated, as per the restriction rule (this restriction is also present on existing articles regarding any additions with NT10 information).

  • It looks like you have finally overtaken the great eye in points to take the number 1 ranking on the wiki. Well done.

Also a minor question: how do you create new categories?

      Loading editor
    • Thanks, OH&S.

To create a new category, you can either:

      • Enter in the name of the category you want to make at the bottom of the relevant article(s) or in the editor, how you would if you were adding an existing category - if done without the editor it produces a red-link but it should still produce the category. You then categorise/edit it etc, as normal.
      • Alternatively, you can enter in the name of the category into the address bar (e.g. http://toarumajutsunoindex.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Magic) (or with ?action=edit at the end to open the editor straight away) and proceed as how you would normally for creating articles.

  • Re reading Volume 19, I just remembered that Stephanie Gorgeouspalace fought in a civil war in Costa Rica, when the last one in real life was in 1948 and was followed by Costa Rica abolishing its army (I doubt it was this one, or Stephanie would be more than 70 years old). So I thought about either:

    1. Making a "Costa Rica" article

    2. Making an article on the civil war (it would be brief, but so is the "Soldier I. Krainikov" article.

    3. Do both articles

What do you recommand? And also, I thought of naming the second one "Second Costan Rican Civil War", but I need a second opinion on whether it is a good idea considering we know nothing about the conflict.

  • Heads up, there's someone who made an account as User:鎌池和馬.

    • Using the magical powers of google translator, it turns out that their username translates to Kazuma Kamachi. I honestly hope it really is the author and not some troll, but I know in my heart that the latter is far more probable than the former.

  • Hello! I was thinking that maybe we could create an info template for countries, like on Wikipedia? A bit like the churches have, with the box having the name of the country, the flag, the language(s) spoken, the capital, the number of inhabitants (like how there are 90m British in ToAru verse), the main religion (or in majority), the Sides they are on, etc. Possibly applying the same for things like the EU and the Pound Economy.

While some countries in the ToAru universe don't have as much info on them like the UK and the US do (and Academy City doesn't even have a flag!), I think it would make the countries articles look more streamlined and clean, as opposed to now where the flags get in the way when editing or creating articles.

    What do you think?

    • I had a feeling it might. We may have to skip Academy City.

It's quite late over here so I won't be able to provide feedback until tomorrow. Apologies for being late.

EDIT: Sorry, ran into a series of 403s.

Looks quite good, although it might need a few tweaks before it is implemented. It might also be an idea to make adjustments for the new markup.

    • Minor question, All fictions; do you have any thoughts regarding possible groupings for the fields?

  • What's up?

    Just two questions:

1-I have recently been made aware of the existence of the compass rose of the Anglican Communion, the official symbol and flag of Anglicanism. Knowing that, should it be added to the Church of England's article, thus replacing the cross of St. George, or should no change be made?

2-Considering the subject matter of the current Railgun manga's Dream Ranker Arc, coupled with what has been introduced thus far in the Accelerator manga, do you reckon that a new article about the concept of "Soul" within the ToAru Universe should be created? Both the necromancy and the magical life forms articles lightly brush the subjects, but such an article would be more in-depth.

    • Got a few fragments on Voodoo ready for processing/amalgamation, though not very much. Just wondering, what was your plan regarding the 'misconception' area?

I'll let you know when the soul draft is ready.

EDIT: Soul draft Principles nearly ready.

    • Is it alright to proceed with implementing the soul draft, All fictions?

  • Hi sorry to bother you=D I had an idea a few weeks back on improvements that could be made to the pages for esper abilities this idea included adding to those pages what we have seen those abilities do at different "Levels" this would be most effective on the Electromaster page but as the series progresses we are bound to see more abilities at different levels as well. just wondering whether anyone thinks this is a good idea or not, I asked one of the admins earlier in the month but they haven't seemed to replied to me yet.
