Minamioki Sarusa (南沖鎖流鎖 Minamioki Sarusa?) is a posthumous character introduced in Toaru Anbu no Item. A middle school member of Judgment and friend of Yamagami Erina, she was killed one year before the main story after attempting to infiltration the dangerous cult Ark of the Electronic Sea.[1][2]

Sarusa's personality is largely unknown, but she was frustrated at the feeling of being left behind while her timid friend Erina got to 'real work', and sought to prove herself by doing something big, despite the danger.[2]

Sarusa's background is largely unknown, but she was attending the same middle school as her friend and fellow Judgment member Yamagami Erina, one year before the main story.[2]
In August, with her friend having recently completed an undercover mission at an illegal casino (one which nearly ended badly for her),[3][4][5][6][2] and recently hanging around high school Judgment members, Sarusa felt like she was being left behind and sought to prove herself capable of doing 'real work'.[2] At the same time, the influence of the science cult Ark of the Electronic Sea was working its way into their school, with several students stopping attending, and Sarusa learned of a connection to School District 4's Clone Complex.[2]
Erina attempted to dissuade Sarusa from following the lead to the dangerous cult, telling her it was too dangerous and a job for the adults in Anti-Skill, while Sarusa considered it Judgment territory given the cult affecting their school and countered with Erin's undercover mission.[2] Sarusa also believed that since Erina's Precognition wasn't showing her anything, just as it hadn't for the casino mission, she would be fine as well, something Erina did not agree with.[2]
Despite Erina's efforts, late in August, Sarusa would proceed with her infiltration, with fatal results.[1][2] According to "Inoue Fox" later, one factor in this was a hacker that had been hired by the cult leader to hack into the Bank and search DNA maps for candidates that met her conditions for a live sacrifice.[7]

Shortly before Item and Sadistic Dolls both moved on August 29th to kill the leader of the Ark of the Electronic Sea, "Dike Goddess Salvation", Sarusa had been caught and sacrificed by the cult leader.[1][2] The two groups did not find her body and were unaware of the murder.[1] Being a member of Judgment, her death triggered a Number 000 on the parties present,[1] prompting the mobilization of Judgment Branch 000 to eliminate everyone deemed to be involved in her death.[1][7]
Unaware of Sarusa's death and having been supposed to meet on the upper deck of a subway station for their patrol that day, Erina searched for her together with Konori Mii and Yanagisako Aomi.[8] The trio continued their search into August 30th, putting up missing posters and appealing for information about Sarusa's whereabouts on August 30th,[9][10] with Item observing them before learning of the death themselves.[8][9][10][1] Her friends would eventually learn of Sarusa's murder, with the incident playing a factor in Aomi's reduced activities with Judgment.[2][11]
Abilities[]
As a member of Judgment, it can be assumed that Sarusa received at least some of the basic training that members have to undergo, though she was likely not at the level where she would be given what she deemed to be 'real work', given her feelings on the matter.[2]
