The Misaka Network (ミサカネットワーク Misaka Nettowaku?) is a brainwave network formed between the Sisters.[1][2] More than just a means for the clones to communicate and share information, the network also plays an important role in Aleister Crowley's plan and has a number of special aspects hidden within it.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

Clonoth[]
Another facet of the Misaka Network, is that of an artificial tree, separate from the pre-existing Sephiroth and Qliphoth,[9][10][11] known as the Clonoth (
Like the Sephiroth and the Qliphoth, the Clonoth has a structure of 10 spheres with 22 paths connecting them, adding up to 32 (with 31 and 32 as duplicates) and with a single path through them all shown by a set of 78 Tarot cards.[9] Unlike the tree of life which represents the positive side of the human mind and the wicked tree which represents the negative side, the young third tree carries neither good or evil. Created by human hands and not found in any previous myth or legend, rather than relying on the hand of god, the new tree instead provides possibilities controlled by humanity, and covers the changes to the human mind and soul brought about through the technological advances and cutting-edge civilization which humans have created for themselves.[10]
The Clonoth is still a sapling compared to the other two trees, but when it was embedded into the world by Accelerator, the external pressure produced was sufficient to affect Coronzon,[10][11] the Great Demon from the Abyss who couldn't be defeated through the use of the Sephiroth or Qliphoth,[12][11] temporarily forcing the demon's soul from her physical body.[10][11] According to Coronzon herself, embedding the third tree into the world would change things more fundamentally than Angel Fall.[10] When drawing upon the mystical power of the Clonoth and planting the tree, with the support of Qliphah Puzzle 545 (who had inherited her creator's essence as a guide and had been granted authority as a guest user of the network) and the Will of the Misaka Network,[9][10] Accelerator manifested pale, nearly transparent platinum wings, similar to those of the Holy Guardian Angel Aiwass,[10] and also sustained injuries from the side-effects of using something like magic while being an esper.[10]
Role in Aleister's Plan[]
The Misaka Network plays an important role in Aleister's Plan, acting as the guidance control mechanism for the Imaginary Number District and used in the manifestation of Fuse Kazakiri and Aiwass.[5][6]
The interior of the Windowless Building was noted by Index and Aleister to symbolize a third tree, different from the Sephiroth or Qliphoth, built up from scratch.[13][14]
Background[]

Prior to the mass production of the clones, the prototype clone Dolly was created in order to research certain aspects of the clones and factors affecting the subsequent project, including the creation of an information sharing network between the clones (connection between the two, memories).[15][16]

During the events surrounding the Ceremony of Mo Athair, when Qliphah Puzzle 545's power was sent out of control again by Nephthys, the Will contacted her via the connection formed through the demon's contract with Accelerator and assisted her in turning that power towards supporting him, with Qliphah Puzzle 545 perceiving the network in the form of 10 spheres and 22 paths and realizing her own essence as a guide, inherited from her creator Coronzon, to work with this tree.[9] After the clash with the Magic God concluded, Accelerator, supported by Qliphah Puzzle 545 and the Will (who wished to get back at Coronzon for the grievous injuries she inflicted to Kamijou Touma), embedded the third tree, dubbed the Clonoth by Qliphah Puzzle 545,[10] into the world in order to apply a great external pressure to Coronzon and temporarily drive the demon's soul from her physical body.[10][11]

In order to achieve the Rosenthal Family's desire, the Taowu, possessing the body of the deceased Hishigata Hirumi and housing the soul and will of Isaac Rosenthal, sought the memories of death stored within the Misaka Network in order to allow the artificial soul to reach Keter, following a method conveyed by a self-proclaimed demon which made contact when the Taowu was activated.[18][19] Posing as Hirumi, the Taowu manipulated her brother Hishigata Mikihiko into following this plan in the guise of making Hirumi into a Level 6,[20][18][19] and eventually obtained the memories from the abducted Misaka 10046.[21] However, the attempt to achieve Keter was ultimately thwarted by the efforts of Accelerator and Esther Rosenthal.[22][23][24]
