Mizuho Medical Institute

The hospital during the Level Upper Incidents.

Mizuho Medical Institute (水穂機構病院（みずほきこうびょういん）, Mizuho Kikou Byouin^?, lit. "Hospital Organization Mizuho") is a hospital establishment first introduced in Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga. It is notable as the hospital where many of the named Level Upper users have been kept during their comatose state.

It is first visited by Shirai Kuroko and Misaka Mikoto, when they realized that Kaitabi Hatsuya has collapsed and is in a comatosed state. Here, they realize that many other people have similar symptoms, and has hired Kiyama Harumi, an AIM specialist to aid in the investigation.

It is revisited later during the AIM Burst's rampage, where the comatose Level Upper users experience pain before being relieved of it after Uiharu Kazari played the Level Upper treatment program.

Trivia

• A similarly named institute, Mizuho Organization Pathology Analysis Laboratory, plays a minuscule role during the Sisters Arc as one of the laboratories part of the Sisters Project and Level 6 Shift programs. It appears as if both institutes are managed by Mizuho Organization, especially given that Kiyama was aware of the existence of the Radio Noise Project after she was a researcher at this Medical institute (as shown only in the manga).
