Motto Marutto Railgun (もっとまるっと超電磁砲, lit. "Much More Railgun"^?) is the first episode of the bonus short animation parody of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun anime. It was first released on June 29, 2010 in limited edition copies of the first Blu ray and DVD releases of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun. It was directed by Fukuyo Shingo, and the animation co-directed by Kimoto Shigeki and Yanagi Shansaki.

Sketch 1: Strange Accents

Uiharu is on about her own business, when suddenly, a girl with a strange sounding voice, her friend, Saten Ruiko, flips her skirt. Like a homerun, Saten asks, with a weird voice, if Uiharu is wearing her panties. An embarassed Uiharu tries to give her a piece of her mind, but of course, she forgets it as the title card appears.

Sketch 2: Alastor

As strange mooing sounds fill the open air in Crepe Rablm, Saten receives the last familiar looking pendant with the glowing lights. But Saten does not want it. Suddenly, sounds of clattering cookingware is heard nearby, and Saten turns to Misaka Mikoto lamenting something on the ground on her knees. Saten asks if Mikoto wants it. With cat-like eyes, Mikoto looks to see if Saten really does mean it.

Sketch 3: Legend of the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor

After thrice having her neck broken, Kuroko has the girls converse regarding the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor. In the restaurant, Saten tells them that she has heard of interesting rumors regarding the Dorm Supervisor, and Uiharu backs this up, telling them that she looked up postings on the Internet. Saten envisions a past where the Dorm Supervisor is a soldier is some backwater jungle taking down enemy combatants with a single snap of the neck while shouting non-sensical phrases. Of course, Mikoto and specifically Kuroko, is not about to believe such insanity. Saten tries to convince them that it's true, and Uiharu further states that since its on the Internet then it must be true. The both of them agree with each other and continuing uttering pharses that makes no hint of sense, scaring Kuroko.

Sketch 4: Saten Ruiko in class

Saten Ruiko is in class playing with her writing tool, and then sighing out of boredom. That's it. She also comments over the eyecatch that wants to eat shibazuke.

Sketch 5: Quantum cat

It's class again, and the teacher talks about Personal Reality. To demonstrates this, he puts a tortoise kitten inside a box, and then asks Saten what would happen after he opens the box, to which she answers that the cat would be either alive or dead. Hearing her answer, the teacher decides to open the box to see what would happen. Of course, something strange happens... the cat is from the wrong show!

• She isn't the first one in these OADs to be denied of meat.
• Valjean, at last, we see each other... wait, never mind.
• Mikoto gives a surreal rant, sprinkled with a little meta reference.
• What was that?
• Uiharu having a "as a matter-of-fact" look.
• Kuroko above all this.
• Electricity tips from Mikoto, now with less puffier cheeks and chest.

Sketch 6: Puns from a drunk

Komoe, Yomikawa, and Tsuzuri are in Komoe's apartment enjoying their little get-together. After a strangely long still of sounds of them chugging down beer, they prepare to dig into the meat. However, Yomikawa tells Tsuzuri she can't have any as she always causes trouble, though Komoe disagrees. Tears of joy run on Tsuzuri's face and thanks Komoe's kindness. She then asks for sauce, to which Yomikawa grabs it and says her classic "jan" with it. Komoe points out her apparent taste for "jan," to which Yomikawa then proceeds to list down a bunch of subjects she likes that rhyme with "jan".

Sketch 7: Wind turbine conspiracy

Mikoto talks to Kuroko about the queer fact that Academy City has a lot of wind turbines. She asks Kuroko if they are really making electricity, to which she asks what's this all about. Uiharu then says that she too has heard of rumors regarding randomly built turbines being taken down in Japan, but Saten points out that the turbines in the city is doing just fine. Suddenly, Mikoto goes on a rant regarding them, stating on how many more could Academy City put up, and how they are even able to turn since they are inland, in a city no less. Mikoto hypothesizes that instead of producing electricity, the wind turbines are using it instead to spin. This of course surprises the girls.

Kuroko asks Mikoto to stop joking around. But she says that she is dead serious, believing that the City is truly up to something, be it a conspiracy or a government secret. Then, Mikoto shouts in the entire restaurant that the wind turbines are a part of the government's secret plans. Uiharu then cuts in, saying that it would be the first step of the Mars migration project: Exodus. Saten then adds that she too had heard rumors. Mikoto worries that only the chosen few can escape, but then, Saten becomes melodramatic, saying that she is only a level 0, to which Uiharu tries to console her. Saten then asks if mankind alone can carry out such a plan. Hearing this, Mikoto excitedly proclaims extrasterrestrials. That's right, big headed grey aliens are definitely involved.

As ruckus erupts, Kuroko confidently states to Mikoto to calm down as they are afterall in Academy City, and she wouldn't be surprised no matter what happens in the City. And then, silence. And thus, as the scene pans to the sky, Mikoto, Kuroko, Saten, and Uiharu all agree, the latter making puns with sauce. And then they all laughed.

At the end, somehow a narrator is introduced, and basically reiterates Kuroko's point. Not a surprise.

Sketch 8: After credits energy conservation tips

Mikoto gives out a series of energy saving tips in a variety of voices. At the end, a friendly reminder to viewers is posted, telling of CO2 emissions, with the proper remedy for this is breathing less.

• Uiharu repeats the sentence "I looked up postings on the Internet!" twice in a row for no reason.
• The song Anti-Skill, from the first Toaru Kagaku no Railgun soundtrack is played during the imagination spot of Saten's regarding the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor's past.
• The teacher's demonstration with cats may be a reference to that of Komoe's demonstration with candy and chocolate in boxes to Index in episode 11.
• Mikoto referencing that the wind turbines are spinning using electricity is a likely reference to the fact that Electromasters are capable of making them spin with their powers, specifically the scene in Toaru Majutsu no Index Light Novel Volume 03, where the Sisters use their powers to en masse force the wind turbines to spin.
• The sequence used for Mikoto's energy conservation tips from the first Toaru Majutsu no Index-tan is reused in the same sequence in this episode, albeit in a different animation model.

Cultural References

• The fanfare Charge, is played after Saten flips up Uiharu's skirt.
• Alastor of Shakugan no Shana fame is featured in this episode. He is allowed to appear because the publishing and production companies are the same, referring to ASCII Mediaworks and JC STAFF respectively, which is noted at the eyecatch after the sketch where he is shown.
• The scene where the Dorm Supervisor breaks Kuroko's neck thrice, while Kuroko screams "Abeshi!! Hidebu!! Tawaba!!" each time. It is a reference to the villains whose heads Kenshiro detonates with Hokuto Shinken in Fist of the North Star.
• The scene where Saten imagines that the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor is a reference to the manga B.B.
• Saten references wanting to eat Shibuzake, a Kyoto specialty pickle made of cucumber, eggplant, perilla leaves shiso, ginger, and myoga a mild flavored relative of ginger pickled in plum vinegar umezu, a byproduct of making pickled plums umeboshi.
• The white cat that replaces Sphynx after the teacher opens the box is the Palmtop Tiger, the mascot of Toradora, albeit white.
• Yomikawa likes action star Jean-Claude Van Damme, boy inventor Jean Roque Raltique of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water fame, the jankyu mahjong tile, and the strange fated Jean Valjean, the main character of Les Misérables. Moreover, she likes Jean Cocteau for his paintings, Akiyama Jan of Iron Wok Jan fame, Shōnen Jump, and chocolate manufacturer Jean-Paul Hévin.
• The eyecatch after the sketch where the above references were made, has a reference to the grilled meat sauce produced by the Kinryuu Foods Corporation. The image states that he prefers it, though for the sake of the pun opts not to have it, referencing the sauce that Yomikawa takes for her pun. The eyecatch also states not seeing Jean-Claude Van Damme recently, most likely referring to the fact that he didn't have any film or television appearances in 2010.
• The eyecatch prior to the 7th sketch references the national stereotype of windmills and Holland (a name used to refer to the whole of the country of the Netherlands), as well as the red-light district of Kabukichō in Tokyo.
• As part of their ridiculous conspiracy theory involving wind turbines, Saten mentions the Greys.
• Uiharu makes a pun involving "Sou da yo," which is a phrase that agrees to a subject being discussed, and "sauce da yo," which roughly means "yes, it is sauce."

Animation Trivia

• The poses that the Tokiwadai Dorm Supervisor does in the imagination spot is the same as when she appears in episode 2, specifically that of the neck breaking scene as well as the looming pose she does before she snaps Kuroko's neck during that episode.
