Soldier I. Krainikov (ソールジエ＝Ｉ＝クライニコフ Sōrujie I Kurainikofu?, Yen Press: Sorzhe I. Krainikov) is a minor character in the Toaru Majutsu no Index series. He is the President of Russia at the time of the outbreak of World War III.[1][2]

Soldier I. Krainikov is the current President of Russia, who declares war against Academy City, sparking the international conflict known as World War III. In the novels, he is not actually seen, but his existence is known by the content of the declaration of war issued by Russia on October 18th of the story's first year.[1]
In the anime adaptation, he is shown in person, as the written letter of the declaration of war is changed to a live news broadcast, where President Krainikov makes his declaration at a press conference.[2]
It is unknown if he stayed President after the war ended.
