- The Tetractys is a triangular figure, with ten points arranged in four rows with 1, 2, 3 and 4 points each respectively from top to bottom. It is a symbol associated with Pythagoreanism and Kabbalah.[4]
- St. Germain mentions Theosophists among the groups who had set Anna Sprengel as their goal in the past, along with the Golden Dawn and witches.[4] Theosophy (神智学 Kamichigaku?) is an occult movement which was established in the United States during the late 19th century, founded primarily by the Russian occultist Helena Blavatsky, drawing upon older European philosophies such as Neoplatonism and Asian religions like Hinduism and Buddhism.
- Part of Theosophist teachings is the existence of an ancient and secretive brotherhood of spiritual masters (referred to by Blavatsky as Mahatmas, founded worldwide but centered in Tibet, alleged to have cultivated great wisdom and supernatural powers, and supposedly the ones who initiated the modern Theosophical movement, disseminating their teachings via Blavatsky (an idea that bears similarities to the concept of the Secret Chiefs).
- Krampus and Kallikantzaros are alluded to as examples of mysterious figures said to appear around Christmas whom one would never want to encounter, examples of dark stories added on to Christmas, making it more than just an enjoyable festival.[6]
- The Japanese urban legend 'Purple Mirror' is mentioned as an example of how human psychology tends to spread stories of misfortune more than ones of fortune (in relation to the Christmas charm to confirm one's good luck, involving the added darker aspects beyond an enjoyable festival and the dark joy of imagining one's unhappiness to feel better about one's own situation) - in this case, it is said a story that still remembering 'silver mirror' on turning twenty would bring happiness would be quickly forgotten by everyone, while no one could bring themselves to forget that still remembering 'purple mirror' on turning twenty would mean death.[6]
