- Numerous religious, historical and mythological aspects were present with the locations shown or referenced in School District 12.[2]
- The Egyptian pyramids are giant masonry structures built during the time of ancient Egypt, many of which act as tombs for pharaohs and consorts of the Old and Middle Kingdoms. The largest among them is the Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu), the oldest and last surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
- The projections on the Greek-style temple reconstructions are said to be testing the theory that the Parthenon was not originally white. Although the notion was long-held that the famous Athenian temple and its sculptures were originally just the color of the stone, archaeologists in more recent years have found traces of pigment on certain surfaces and sculptures, suggesting that they were originally painted in bright colors, dulled and lost over time.
- A megalith (derived from ancient Greek, "mega" for great and "lithos" for stone) is a large stone used alone or with other stones to construct a prehistoric structure or monument. Most of the known existing megaliths were erected between the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age, with over 35,00 in Europe. The word was first used in 1849 by antiquarian Algernon Herbert when referring to Stonehenge.
- Tree worship refers to the veneration or mythologization of trees, present in various cultures. Trees have often been seen as a symbols of growth, death and rebirth, from observations of their seasonal cycles. Various religious and mythologies around the world include the concepts of sacred trees, a tree of life or a world tree.
- A relief (derived from the Latin relevolo (to raise)) is sculptural method where sculpted pieces are bonded to a solid background, both of the same material, giving the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background plane. Alternatively, when carved into a surface of stone or wood, the field is lowered, leaving the unsculpted areas seeming higher. Many cathedrals and churches of Medieval Europe have reliefs.
- The Latin Church is the largest particular church within the Roman Catholic Church.
- A nome is a territorial and administrative division within ancient Egypt.
- The Nile, Africa's longest river and Egypt's primary water source, played a key role in the development of the ancient Egyptian civilization, with most of its cultural and historical sites found along its river banks. The river was a source of water and a means o transportation, and the silt deposited by the annual floods made the surrounding land fertile and cultivable. The rivers was an important part of daily and spiritual life, and as such, the ancient calendar was based on the cycles of the Nile.
- The liquid pet treat Muru (ミュール Myūru?), which Anna Kingsford gives to Kihara Noukan, is a parody of the brand Churu (ちゅ~る).[6]
