- After seeing the white marble consulate, white artificial roses painted rose, and the out-of-season yellow and black honeybees, Touma recalls how the combination of black, white, yellow and red had cropped up during the events in Los Angeles,[5] with the alchemical four stages and Citrinitas.[10]
- When describing the Shrink Drink method of diminishing a Transcendent in order to kill them, Trismegistus refers to Othinus's condition,[5] with a Magic God having been similarly diminished by the Fairy spell.[11][12]

- The threat posed by the consulate is compared to the one from the Cuban Missile Crisis.[1] The Cuban Missile Crisis was 13-day political and military standoff between the United States and the Soviet Union. It occurred in October 1962 over the installation of nuclear-armed Soviet missiles on Cuba, just 90 miles from U.S. shores. Following this news, many people feared the world was on the brink of nuclear war. However, disaster was avoided when the U.S. agreed to Soviet's offer to remove the Cuban missiles in exchange for the U.S. promising not to invade Cuba.[13]
- Numerous aspects of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland are involved in the visit to the consulate, Alice Anotherbible's 'secret base'.[5]
- The consulate itself is partially based on the Queen of Hearts's castle, with Trismegistus pointing out how it is considered a highlight of the story. Like in the story, there are roses in the garden which have been painted red.[5]
- The Shrink Drink spiritual items, intended for executing Anna Sprengel, are derived from the drink which shrinks the drinker in the story, with the bottle having the label 'drink me' - words engraved on the spears.[5]
- Mut Thebes's name is derived from the Egyptian deity Mut and the ancient Egyptian capital city Thebes.[5] Mut (meaning "mother" in ancient Egyptian) is a mother goddess and primal deity associated with the primordial waters of Nu, often said to have been the husband of the solar creator god Amun-Ra and mother of the lunar god Khonsu. She was a patron deity of Thebes, which was also the site of the Temple of Karnak, where the three were worshipped as the Theban Triad.
- In considering Hermes Thoth Trismegistus and his own system, Aleister mentions Thoth's links to Aiwass and how Hermes and Thoth are associated in his occult dictionary Liber 777. The relevant columns in Table I of Liber 777 are XIX, XX (Egyptian Gods), and XXXIV (Greek Gods). Hermes and Thoth correspond at rows 2, 8 and 12.[7][14]
- When teasingly suggesting and eliminating beings related to Magick that the Bologna Succubus and Good Old Mary could be linked to (along the same logic as Trismegistus and Aradia's links to it), Anna Kingsford mentions the sky goddess from Egyptian Mythology and the lady in red spoken of in the Book of Revelation.[7] The Egyptian sky goddess is Nut, whom the Thelemic deity Nuit is based on, while the lady from Revelation is the Whore of Babylon, an origin for the Scarlet Woman Babalon in Thelema.
