Sumomo (李, Sumomo^?) is a character introduced in the 6th light novel volume of Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index. She is a member of Anti-Skill, dispatched during the escape of Fräulein Kreutune.

Etymology

As if like a theme, all three girls that Aiho contacted are named after a type of fruit. The characters in Sumomo's name can be translated as Plum.

Personality

Of the three that Aiho contacts in the public bandwidth of Anti-Skill, Sumomo's style speech is most direct and straight to the point.

Background

Sumomo is acquainted with Yomikawa Aiho, though it is unknown if they operate from the same branch. Sumomo may have been dispatched the previous night to help with the search for the culprit that broke the Calculate Fortress of the Windowless Building.

Aiho first contacts Sumomo, along with Hakutou and Kurumi, after becoming suspicious of the strange information blackout regarding the attack on the Windowless Building, as well as the movements of the not-too-subtle Fräulein Kreutune. Sumomo answers Aiho plainly, confirming to her that she has indeed become suspicious of the information blackout regarding Fräulein Kreutune.

Here, it is shown that Sumomo, as well as Hakutou, was tasked to search information regarding their prey, but is being interfered by someone. Aiho later plans on taking Kurumi, and tells both Sumomo and Hakutou to go back to the station to secure paper reports if possible, if not, then retrieve the temporary cache from the copier. Sumomo warns though, that whoever is blocking information is most likely a step ahead of them.

It is assumed that she acquiesces to Aiho's order and rendezvoused with Hakutou.
