Sumtalak Shandeva (サムタラク＝シャンデーバ Samutaraku Shandēba^?) is referenced in Toaru Majutsu no Index: Road to Endymion. One of the members of the Gate of the Gods Come from the Heavens, a Hindu-based Magic Cabal, Sumtalak is a decision maker in the cabal, and would receive from protection from its lower members if an attack takes place.^[1]

While Sumtalak and the other decision-makers discuss what to do after Sozty Exica's distraction to have them get away from Stiyl Magnus, Sumtalak is killed by Ureapaddy Exica.^[2]
