Tachiuo Mary (太刀魚（たちうお）・メアリー, Tachiuo Mearī^?) was a remodelled high school girl who acted as Ainame Caroline's test specimen and accomplice in Honey Queen.

Etymology

Her family name is derived from the Japanese name for the largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus), a member of the cutlassfish family.

Tachiuo Mary was a tall high school girl with long black hair, done up in two buns and a rear braid, and green eyes. Her lower face was covered by a large white pollen mask and she had a bell-like decoration in her hair.

She wore a red uniform vest with gold lining and no shirt below, as well as a long skirt with a slit up the side, with the silhouette resembling a Chinese-style dress at first glance.

Tachiuo Mary's Level 4 esper ability was the electron-based Anything Link (遺伝崩し（エニシングリンク）, Iden Kuzushi (Enishingurinku)^?). She could send a beam of electrons through an esper's skull and into their brain, throwing off the balance of the brain's chemicals and making her opponent lose control of their power. The nature of her power meant that Ainame Caroline considered her a prime candidate for Project Angelica, over the less precise and more destructive Mugino Shizuri.

Her body had been highly modified by Ainame Caroline to grant her superhuman strength, jumping ability and greater use of her body overall, with a unique muscle arrangement and 503 bones (compared to around 206 in a normal human body).

In battle, Tachiuo Mary often used improvised weapons made from objects in her surroundings, resembling Chinese weapons (including the Lang Ya Bang (狼牙棒, Lang Ya Bang^?), Chang Bing Dao (長柄刀, Chang Bing Dao^?), Bijiacha (筆架叉, Bijiacha^?), Sheng Biao (縄鏢, Sheng Biao^?), Shen Huo Fei Ya (神火飛鳥, Shen Huo Fei Ya^?), Zhen Tian Lei (振天雷, Zhen Tian Lei^?), Zhuazi Ban (抓子棒, Zhuazi Ban^?) and Xian Qiang (筅槍, Xian Qiang^?)), although she did not know the names or function, with the possibility that her body automatically selecting nearby objects usable as weapons was a reflex or habit that Ainame Caroline had written into her brain or nerves during customization.
