Choice of Name[]
I have to question what the reasoning behind "Emanation" is here. Usually, unnamed characters or concept relate in some way to what the text says, but "emanation" or any variations of "emanate" never appear in relation to the character, so it's a strange terminology to me. At least "the One who Purifies God and Slays Demons" is what Anna calls him in NT22 and NT22R so that would make actual sense (it's also the term under which the Japanese atwiki classifies him, when it doesn't call him "神浄討魔"). There are also other possibilities: NT22&R both put emphasis on "interior vs. exterior", like how after the red bubbles baby show up and Aleister tricked Touma into forgetting he's missing an arm, Crowley say of Touma "The exterior Kamijou Touma will be obliterated as things are now". Then in NT22R when the other Touma's identity is revealed: "What if the abilities were watching the humans as well? If they had the observer’s ability to alter probability, then could that unknown power control not just Kamijou himself, but the interior and exterior of every thinking being of the human race? ". In extra canonical sources, Haimura dubbed the two of them [A]&[B]. I just do not understand the choice of title. --The Lord Reader (talk) 19:17, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- We don't use this namespace much anymore, Lord Reader. It'll take quite a while to dig out the relevant notes and thoughts, but if I recall correctly, there were a number of potential candidates for the differential label, with this one considered due to the nature of the other Touma's manifestation (I can't remember at the moment, whether it was implemented on a tentative basis initially or whether it was considered beyond that).
