We Need a New Layout!Edit

Since we are currently in the Animanga Wiki Spotlight for this month, we should spruce up the Wiki's CSS so that it looks relevant to the content. What do you think? I need some ideas too. ----Herald of meridian 08:37, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah totally, we should get rid of that Index stretching image and replace it with the Toaru Majutsu no Index logo, and the overall color scheme should at least be light bluish to complement the logo, just my 2 cents.---TheGreatEye 10:09, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
I'll be working on it and it will be available by tomorrow GMT+8. It can be subject to change if deemed necessary or if we need to add Railgun in it too. ----Herald of meridian 13:22, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
Copy the css for the sky theme and add it to MediaWiki:Monaco.css. Remove the "@group Main Page" section before you save it. Also need a favicon.--Sxerks 17:06, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
The new logo is up! I'll also open it for further discussion (like what you want to change or other suggestions). ----Herald of meridian 01:43, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
At the moment I don't see a change in the skin even though it has been changed, I've cleared my cache but it looks like the default sapphire skin to me, maybe there is a Wikia cache problem.--Sxerks 16:24, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
I haven't changed anything in the Monaco.css. :P I'm running out of ideas on how to change the layout (color schemes, etc.) and the only thing I've changed is the title of the Wiki in the main page (Toaru Universe Wiki) and the logo. The logo and the CSS should be discussed first. ----Herald of meridian 02:22, April 7, 2010 (UTC)
But you changed it yesterday, you add the sky css to the MediaWiki:Monaco.css, and changed the skin setting to custom. We should be able to see that change, the side bar should be blue at the moment. That's odd.--Sxerks 03:30, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

In Need of Some Ideas! Edit

Guys, I'm working on the CSS for the Wiki and I'm currently running out of ideas. Currently, my ideas include shrinking the text of the article and the stuff on the side. I also want to make the header occupy just one line. Now, I need some suggestions on color and/or layout for the Wiki. -----Herald of meridian 13:20, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

Check the recent changes for my theme tests(5 of them) they are all based off of the Red Wikia Obsession. I'm currently using the Aqua one on the Thief Wiki.--Sxerks 23:52, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I dunno... it would require the site to look dark. I was thinking of leaving the article page white while the other parts get their colors. I'll try experimenting later if that works. ----Herald of meridian 00:01, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
OK, use this one, it's based off of the official site, and part of the Wikia Forest theme. It's a start.--Sxerks 02:11, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

How about we put up a new title for every character stating who they defeat and lost to? --AcceleratorLastOrder 17:53, Sep 2, 2010

I don't understand. Cite some examples.---TheGreatEye 04:40, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
I think what he meant is that we should record the battles that happened within the story. For example, in Episode 02 of Toaru Majutsu no Index, Touma defeats Stiyl. I'm not sure about the format, but the Bleach Wiki has implemented this. heraldofmeridian♣ 07:43, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Well, you just have to put up titles like victories and defeats and put the characters names in point form --AcceleratorLastOrder 05:07, September 3, 2010 (GMT +8.00)
Should we make an article for each individual fight, like the Bleach Wiki?---TheGreatEye 06:49, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I have mixed feelings for that, particularly because we have a comprehensive and very detailed synopsis. We can just add a section for battles and note there which ones are fighting and the outcome. heraldofmeridian♣ 08:21, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Frontpage suggestion Edit

Well, this maybe a little out-of-line to me, but to put it bluntly, the front page seems rather dull and plain. I visited the Shakugan no Shana wiki, and kind of liked the look of their frontpage and I wanted to see something similar in the wiki, I'm talking about the Media and categories subsections in the Content section of the front page.

Is the idea of having small pictures above these things too absurd? I mean we want to draw in people to read and eventually contribute to this wiki aren't we? My suggestion is that we should at least remodel the Contents section as so it could pique the interest of anyone who happens to visit the wiki. What do you guys think?---TheGreatEye 22:57, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

First of all, I just modified the front page code so that I shows up on the WYSIWYG mode of the editor (it's hard to layout when you don't know how it turns out) and right now it should look almost the same as the one with complex code although with misaligned stuff. As for the stuff from Shakugan no Shana Wiki, I'll try to replicate that or do something else. ----Herald of meridian 01:09, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Do you mind if I try my hand in editing the front page?..I've gotten a few ideas after browsing a few other wikis that I like to try out..---TheGreatEye 03:39, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
The main page isn't for testing, if you want to try something out to see how it looks use a sandbox under your user page: User:TheGreatEye/sandbox
--Sxerks 04:13, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
I don't really know how to use that thing, anyway I've visited the Half-Life wiki and as you can see the the frontpage has a section for it's categories, what do you guys think about it?..---TheGreatEye 12:20, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
You just copy the entire contents of the main page to your sandbox page, and play with it there.--Sxerks 14:03, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

My sources:

Lero 17:40, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

You might want to announce that upcomin Index game as well...---TheGreatEye 13:30, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
yup i already heard about it and it means more new space and article for seperating between the light novel, game , manga , and anime . Seriously it only about 4 months (probably more due some problem) and look at how much change already change Fukou da WiliamZ 17:47, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

Countdown to Season 2Edit

Wouldn't it be easier to have a countdown timer displayed on the main page, instead of constantly editing the main page every time just so one can change the number of days left for the next season to air? Just throwing it out there.---TheGreatEye 05:31, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

No idea on how to do it. @_@ heraldofmeridian♣ 08:45, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Well I have limited control, but I think you can fare much better, here is the mediaWiki page for the countdown timer: link. ---TheGreatEye 09:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Even with that, I don't know how I would install it. D: Should I do a Special:Contact? heraldofmeridian♣ 12:24, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
I found and added a timer, it you don't see it Ctrl-F5 to refresh.--Sxerks 02:20, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Dont no if its me but where im from its 1 hour behind Japan and it says it starts 1:30am on Tokyo MX thats over half and hour after posting this so yeah XD LLHayate-Kun 15:53, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

can someone please make a page on the Star of Bethlehem? cos i dun know a single thing about it. -AcceleratorLastOrder, October 19, 2010

By the way Edit

May I know who took down the poll? Teh Ping 09:07, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

I did. I thought it's no longer needed because there are unexpected changes in the editor lineup; outerelf from the AnimeSuki Forums said in the Light Novels Thread, "Well, it looks like volume 14 is being translated by Js06, so whoever has to poll on the wiki, you can probably change it now. Or take it down." heraldofmeridian♣ 12:18, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
Well, doesn't matter whether the poll is up or not. I will work on the 1st 6 novels instead.Teh Ping 12:53, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Railgun Booklets Edit

These are the Railgun booklets from the DVD/BD if anyone is interested.

This is also where Telestina's name is actually spelled as Therestina... so I am not sure if you guys are going to change it or retain it as is... o_o - Avegaille 08:48, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Guidelines for using the character box templates?Edit

We have Template:Infobox_character and Template:Character_Infobox, but now it's getting confusing regarding how these templates should be used in the character pages, and we also need to settle on the details that both templates should be displaying.

If we do decide on a single character box template, I suggest this list of details:

  • Image
  • Name (Kanji)
  • Name (Romaji)
  • Sorcery Name
  • Epithet
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Height
  • Classification
  • Affiliation
  • Family
  • Occupation
  • Ability Name
  • Power Level
  • Voiced By
  • Novel
  • Manga
  • Anime

Status should be omitted because it's reliant on the most recent events in the series (e.g., Touma, who just shifted from "MIA" to "Active"), and the Chronology section should more than make up for that.

Thoughts? --Tactician J 05:02, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

The To Aru Majutsu no Index: New Testament seriesEdit

Organizations Edit

The main page has listed categories such as "Magic" "Characters" "Science" "Timeline" etc. However the Organizations are not present in the main page, and given that the series has many of them (more often than not playing and important role in the series) I think it would be wise to put such category there. So can anybody help me with this? Because even if I watched the series (mostly anime) they are so many that I'm kind of lost.BGMaxie 22:36, August 16, 2011 (UTC)

counting error Edit

the main page Toaru_Majutsu_no_Index_Wiki list 742 pages, while every other page I know of lists 745. is this some odd error involving caching on my end, or is this a genuine problem. --Saganatsu

by the way on Index Information you could add ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman Cameo Appearance —Preceding unsigned comment added by Majestix1988 (talkcontribs)

Spoilers Everywhere, no Warnings at the First page Edit

I noticed that even the character names (the title of pages) in this wiki have obivious spoilers, namely Etzali (when you want info for the who you think is Unabara Mitsuki) and Kakine Teitoku (and then you see "This article deals with the Original Kakine Teitoku. For the current Kakine Teitoku --") .

it's good for the Wiki to be this Origanized, But why there isn't any warning? (or it's there and I didn't found it maybe? then it should be in more clear place) Can someone add [This wiki has spoilers] **bla bla bla** and [even the pages names are spilers] at the main page? or an admin giving me the premission, or give me a reason why not do it?

Ahmadmanga (talk) 20:42, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

I always wondered why such a thing with warning about spoilers would be common in the wikis. Wikis especially those that aggregate information from stories would naturally contain information that one would deem as "spoilers." It is simply commonsense, and I have assumed, in good nature, that the people who come to this wiki know of it. Only a fool would assume otherwise. I guess then, to cater to these people, I will have to point out the utterly obvious in the main page.---TheGreatEye (talk) 01:09, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
Umm.... you mean it's Natural? anyway ...
it's not a big deal but I thought if someone read (like me) half the story and wanted to see "summary" of that half (This Is why I use wikis), If it's just (the fool) me it's ok, but Etzali name was given at vol15 while he first appeard at vol5, umm... nevermind..
thanks for the fast reply ^_^ Ahmadmanga (talk) 07:15, May 10, 2013 (UTC)
