We Need a New Layout!

Since we are currently in the Animanga Wiki Spotlight for this month, we should spruce up the Wiki's CSS so that it looks relevant to the content. What do you think? I need some ideas too. ----Herald of meridian 08:37, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah totally, we should get rid of that Index stretching image and replace it with the Toaru Majutsu no Index logo, and the overall color scheme should at least be light bluish to complement the logo, just my 2 cents.---TheGreatEye 10:09, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
I'll be working on it and it will be available by tomorrow GMT+8. It can be subject to change if deemed necessary or if we need to add Railgun in it too. ----Herald of meridian 13:22, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
Copy the css for the sky theme and add it to MediaWiki:Monaco.css. Remove the "@group Main Page" section before you save it. Also need a favicon.--Sxerks 17:06, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
The new logo is up! I'll also open it for further discussion (like what you want to change or other suggestions). ----Herald of meridian 01:43, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
At the moment I don't see a change in the skin even though it has been changed, I've cleared my cache but it looks like the default sapphire skin to me, maybe there is a Wikia cache problem.--Sxerks 16:24, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
I haven't changed anything in the Monaco.css. :P I'm running out of ideas on how to change the layout (color schemes, etc.) and the only thing I've changed is the title of the Wiki in the main page (Toaru Universe Wiki) and the logo. The logo and the CSS should be discussed first. ----Herald of meridian 02:22, April 7, 2010 (UTC)
But you changed it yesterday, you add the sky css to the MediaWiki:Monaco.css, and changed the skin setting to custom. We should be able to see that change, the side bar should be blue at the moment. That's odd.--Sxerks 03:30, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

In Need of Some Ideas!

Guys, I'm working on the CSS for the Wiki and I'm currently running out of ideas. Currently, my ideas include shrinking the text of the article and the stuff on the side. I also want to make the header occupy just one line. Now, I need some suggestions on color and/or layout for the Wiki. -----Herald of meridian 13:20, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

Check the recent changes for my theme tests(5 of them) they are all based off of the Red Wikia Obsession. I'm currently using the Aqua one on the Thief Wiki.--Sxerks 23:52, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I dunno... it would require the site to look dark. I was thinking of leaving the article page white while the other parts get their colors. I'll try experimenting later if that works. ----Herald of meridian 00:01, May 25, 2010 (UTC)
OK, use this one, it's based off of the official site, and part of the Wikia Forest theme. It's a start.--Sxerks 02:11, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

How about we put up a new title for every character stating who they defeat and lost to? --AcceleratorLastOrder 17:53, Sep 2, 2010

I don't understand. Cite some examples.---TheGreatEye 04:40, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
I think what he meant is that we should record the battles that happened within the story. For example, in Episode 02 of Toaru Majutsu no Index, Touma defeats Stiyl. I'm not sure about the format, but the Bleach Wiki has implemented this. heraldofmeridian♣ 07:43, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Well, you just have to put up titles like victories and defeats and put the characters names in point form --AcceleratorLastOrder 05:07, September 3, 2010 (GMT +8.00)
Should we make an article for each individual fight, like the Bleach Wiki?---TheGreatEye 06:49, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I have mixed feelings for that, particularly because we have a comprehensive and very detailed synopsis. We can just add a section for battles and note there which ones are fighting and the outcome. heraldofmeridian♣ 08:21, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Frontpage suggestion

Well, this maybe a little out-of-line to me, but to put it bluntly, the front page seems rather dull and plain. I visited the Shakugan no Shana wiki, and kind of liked the look of their frontpage and I wanted to see something similar in the wiki, I'm talking about the Media and categories subsections in the Content section of the front page.

Is the idea of having small pictures above these things too absurd? I mean we want to draw in people to read and eventually contribute to this wiki aren't we? My suggestion is that we should at least remodel the Contents section as so it could pique the interest of anyone who happens to visit the wiki. What do you guys think?---TheGreatEye 22:57, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

First of all, I just modified the front page code so that I shows up on the WYSIWYG mode of the editor (it's hard to layout when you don't know how it turns out) and right now it should look almost the same as the one with complex code although with misaligned stuff. As for the stuff from Shakugan no Shana Wiki, I'll try to replicate that or do something else. ----Herald of meridian 01:09, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Do you mind if I try my hand in editing the front page?..I've gotten a few ideas after browsing a few other wikis that I like to try out..---TheGreatEye 03:39, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
The main page isn't for testing, if you want to try something out to see how it looks use a sandbox under your user page: User:TheGreatEye/sandbox
--Sxerks 04:13, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
I don't really know how to use that thing, anyway I've visited the Half-Life wiki and as you can see the the frontpage has a section for it's categories, what do you guys think about it?..---TheGreatEye 12:20, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
You just copy the entire contents of the main page to your sandbox page, and play with it there.--Sxerks 14:03, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Countdown to Season 2

Wouldn't it be easier to have a countdown timer displayed on the main page, instead of constantly editing the main page every time just so one can change the number of days left for the next season to air? Just throwing it out there.---TheGreatEye 05:31, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

No idea on how to do it. @_@ heraldofmeridian♣ 08:45, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Well I have limited control, but I think you can fare much better, here is the mediaWiki page for the countdown timer: link. ---TheGreatEye 09:00, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Even with that, I don't know how I would install it. D: Should I do a Special:Contact? heraldofmeridian♣ 12:24, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
I found and added a timer, it you don't see it Ctrl-F5 to refresh.--Sxerks 02:20, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
