Understood, Ollerus. I hope things go well for you and Lord Reader in your exams.
As for things on my end, while there aren't any expected obstructions until mid-May, I've been having trouble keeping track of everything and maintaining progress recently (keeping the logs doesn't seem to be helping as much as I'd hoped), which is a bit of a downer. I also feel I haven't been doing a good job in maintaining communication. On those notes, I'm sorry for not getting the work/logs/tasklists/info posts done properly on time - I feel I've been letting you and the others down by not managing to do so.
With regards to stuff that we're doing, good work with the recent chapter and image edits. I'm currently trying to get back on track and regain a clear picture of the tasks to be and being tackled. I've also been trying to get a draft done for a separate article for the Misaka Network (which I was considering linking the Clonoth to), though progress has been stalling somewhat.
Do you have any particular plans for upcoming stuff at the moment, Ollerus?
I've removed the link in the top-nav bar - I haven't been able to get external links to work in the top navigation (though I haven't done a thorough search). Will add a note for a top-navigation update to the tasklists for later.
Have got an opportunity so will be spending time today trying to catch up with what's been going on and add some of the drafts I've been working on offline while on holiday (not back home yet though).
Thanks for keeping an eye on and updating things while I'm away.
If it is OK Ollerus, could you upload images so we have separate images for both the magazine and volume depictions of the HsB using the Earth Blade in the manga? I've got a problem on my end which is preventing me from doing so.
I'm recently working on "Localized Releases" of Toaru series. So far, its localization has been released in seven languages: English, Korean, French, Italian, Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese. I have some questions about editing the article.
In the Layout Guide, the article did not indicate the section for "Localized Releases". Which is the proper location for the "Localized Releases" section?
Also, I put the information by order of release date. How do you prefer to order language information in the article?
As you know, the last BD/DVD volume of Index III anime was released on July 30th, 2019. Also Toaru Majutsu no Index III Amazon bonus Drama CD was released as a bonus for those who purchased the limited editions of anime volumes 1 to 8 on Amazon. Titled Anglican Church Women's Dormitory, it will cover a chapter from Toaru Majutsu no Index SS which wasn't adapted to anime form.
The map that I upload is Mercator Projection map. It is standard map projection, but it inflates the size of the objects away from the equator. I think that the Mercator projection distorted the desired position.
Just to be certain, are you talking about all of the centre points being off? (one thing I should have been clear about earlier was that the centre point for the whole UK isn't particularly important - its the centre points for the four regions which are needed for the target location)
I was attempting to figure out the target location for the Ceremony of Mo Athair by using a protractor to draw circles of equal radius, with the centre points of the regions at their centres, to find a point where they all intersected - a point equidistant from the centre points (which was described in the translation).
I have started to wonder if 'equidistant' was actually what was intended, and considered double-checking to make sure that it was...
I wonder what bit of it might be causing the occasional unintentional nbsp...
Sorry for lack of progress recently. Aside from an overhaul for Esther, have largely been trying to get the log for the past couple of works in order. Haven't properly completed the Image Tasklist yet - can you think of anything on that front which we need (to do/find)?
Special background image and new featured article sounds good to me. For the new featured article, I suggest Coffin because it is well-informed article and related to Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator anime. Logo is good too. What about new blog post for history of Toaru Majutsu no Index Wiki? Also do you have any thoughts for background image and 10th anniversary logo?
It looks like we both had the same idea; I've been overhauling Coffin with that in mind. I've done most of the Principles work, so there are just a few tweaks and some image stuff left to go (I've put in some of the available images, but the arrangement isn't set to stay yet and there are some possibilities not yet added). How does the article look to you at the moment?
Still thinking about possibilities for the background and logo (if I recall correctly, Herald was the last one to touch the wordmark).
Edit: A history blog post seems like a good idea (though I think it might be an idea to call in some additional help for it).
Beside that are you still eye on the "wanted pages"? I redirected "Skill-Out Uprising Arc" to "Skill-Out Uprising". Also for "Spellcaster", Silent Psycho Gamer deleted the article on December 20, 2014 after its creation. I think it is okay to remove red links.
For "Kamachi Kazuma "Toaru Majusu no Index" 10th Anniversary Animated Promotional Video" red link, original commenter missed "t" in Majusu.
Well, I've mostly been focusing on other stuff during the past couple of weeks. I've just dealt with the two items you mentioned. As for Spellcaster, I had a few things which were on the backburner which might involve it, so I think I'll wait a bit on that one.
I'm thinking of compiling a large tasklist for the start of October and depending on the circumstances, I might have to spend a bit of time offline in order to focus (and sort out my papers).
Can I ask a small favour of you in the meantime, Ollerus?
If it is OK, could you go through the Accelerator manga and anime, and find all the bits concerning Seiin High School and its indicated location, then check with the other information that has been given or written concerning the School Districts in question? The reason I'm asking is because I think there might perhaps be an error somewhere among them.
Also, if you have access to a raw copy of NT22, could you see what the original Japanese terms used in Ch3Pt6, with regards to the ideal location for using the Honours for the Ceremony of Mo Athair, were?
Also, if you have access to a raw copy of NT22, could you see what the original Japanese terms used in Ch3Pt6, with regards to the ideal location for using the Honours for the Ceremony of Mo Athair, were?
Yes, I have. Is this the paragraph what you asked of?
Original Japanese Text:
“The three treasures and the Stone of Scone were taken from Edinburgh Castle. Using their power to its fullest requires performing a ceremony at a point equidistant from the center points of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.”
“Yes, and that means it couldn’t possibly happen on land. It would probably be at the center of the sea between Great Britain and Ireland.”
Ollerus, I can't remember my thoughts from when the Jailbreaker Arc article was first made or whether/where I may written it down somewhere, but I've been considering moving some of the stuff concerning the private juvenile hall to its own article (possibly Second Reformatory depending on the circumstances). Can you recall the frequency/patterns of the terms used referring to it in the Japanese version?
For the terminology, 第二少年院 is used in the preview chapter for Jailbreaker Arc which released in September 2017. In chapter 98, director mentioned Reformatory as 第一少年院. He mentioned terminology (第二少年院) in chapter 98, 100, and 105. Even in concept art for Railgun manga Vol. 14, same terminology (第二少年院) is used. English translation translated "第二少年院" to Second Juvenile Hall and "第一少年院" to First Juvenile Hall. Also Japanese atwiki used same term (第二少年院) for the title of article.
Therefore Second Juvenile Hall is appropriate for new article name. Also reformatory is outdated word.
What I was looking for were notes concerning my thought processes/reasoning at the time (if I had made them). I've been through most of my accessible notes from the time. If there were any offline notes, there's a fair chance they would be buried somewhere among the disorganized mess, so it probably wouldn't be particularly practical to dig/seek them out at the moment (on that note, I really should get my room, papers, computer files and sandboxes in order). Its not much of an issue though, just a minor frustration.
I've almost finished verifying the remaining September edits in the log and I'm continuing work on the start-of-October tasklist. Hopefully, I'll get it done before the end of the week. I'm going to be on holiday from the 11th to the 18th, but I'm going to try and continue wiki work during that period.
In manga, the actual School District for Seiin High School is not specifically mentioned. Anti-Skill ordered students to leave certain area. Students wear same uniform as Hirumi. In anime episode 9, airship announced eviction from School District 16. Students who wear same school uniform as Hishigata Hirumi could not go to school. So the Seiin High School is likely located in School District 16.
In anime episode 4, one of the DA's base, Sukunabikona Foods which located in School Distrct 14 is destroyed. In anime episode 5 and 6, Sukunabikona Foods Supplement Factory is the location where Anti-Skill and DA clashes. It is located in fifth warehouse zone of District 3. They used different kanji for School District (学区,School District?) and District (地区,District?).
Fun fact: Sukunabikona is also referenced in manga. 40% of the medical papers about Body Crystal came from labs funded by Sukunabikona Pharmaceutical. The largest stock holder of Sukunabikona Pharmaceutical is a dummy company owned by Nakimoto Rizou.
For "Experiment on the analysis of the laws of induced explosions on runaway espers" red link, it will be work if you changed to the Experiment on the Analysis of the Laws of Induced Explosions on Runaway Espers. Also "Template:PORT Character Infobox" is no longer used in wikia. A red link is still remained in here.
I'm aware but thanks. For the Railgun T-related work, the Daihaseisai-related areas will be the primary focus, with the Dream Ranker Arc and the Liberal Arts City areas as potential secondary focuses. The general overhauling is still continuing, and there are still a fair few tasks from the last lot which have yet to be completed.
Just so you know, aside from article work, I've also been planning a few other operations recently. One is a comment-related one (I made a query on Community Central earlier regarding one of the less likely options and acquired the necessary information), another is an image-related one (related to a template which OH&S has confirmed) to link in with the previously planned image info sweep.
Are you going to disable comment? If so, I don't think it is good idea. I know some anime wikia such as MHA, One Piece, and Attack on Titan blocked comment section, but editors still can interact and communicate each other with discord chat server. I understand the circumstances that some of recent comments and related vandalism had happened.
I'm not going to do away with comments. If I do disable them, it will only temporarily and only as a last resort. I don't think it is likely that I would have to do so, but just in the worst came to pass, I was checking to make sure that the existing comments would not be lost.
However, I do need to go through the comments at some point soon, and I've been considering the possible ways to approach the task (as well as scenarios that could potentially be encountered in the future). I have wondered whether or not to ask for help, but given the likely tedious and slightly annoying nature of the task, I wasn't sure whether it would be right to bother you or the others with it.
My progress on holiday has not been as much as I would have liked, regrettably. Weather and mood have been somewhat gloomy.
One thing I was wondering if you could assist me with Ollerus. I still haven't finished that wretched tasklist yet, but I noticed you finishing some of the tasks which were on there recently (thanks for that). However, I've mislaid the note I wrote down to remind me which ones they were. If it isn't any trouble, could you remind me so I can update the tasklist?
Sorry for being a bit of a bother.
P.S. Just so you know, I'm seeing about making a Bot of my own in order to tackle some of the large-scale cleanup tasks without clogging up Recent Changes.
I recently found that the official Kamachi Kazuma twitter used term "Old Testament" (旧約,Kyūyaku?) officially for the first series of Toaru Majutsu no Index. Here is the link. Before this, the official has never mentioned or said that the first series is called Old Testament. As you know, Toaru fandom used "OT" as the initials for "Old Testament", as opposed to "New Testament" which is used for the volumes under Shinyaku.
Sorry for being a bit late dealing with those two - I was unable to access the internet during the drive home. I still haven't finished the wretched log and tasklists…
Edit: With regards to ImageReqInfo, I've been using it to mark recently uploaded images still requiring information (primarily through sweeps and due to lack of time to verify and write). I am holding off on adding the tag to the older images until a bot can be made ready to perform verification sweeps (so Recent Changes isn't clogged). Once this is done, I'm planning to have it identify the images lacking licensing tags and descriptions before carrying out a sweep across the identified images to add the basic structure together with the ImageReqInfo tags (so that they are all done together and that problems which might occur from doing them separately are reduced).
Inept Wiki User wrote: Well, I've mostly been focusing on other stuff during the past couple of weeks. I've just dealt with the two items you mentioned. As for Spellcaster, I had a few things which were on the backburner which might involve it, so I think I'll wait a bit on that one.
I checked raw text for several early OT volumes and compared to English-translated LN where either "Caster" or "Spellcaster" used. In OT 2, Himegami self-proclaimed herself as Spellcaster (魔法使,Mahouka?). Except that, Caster (術者,Caster?) is used in OT4, OT6, and OT9 for indicating person who spell the magic. In OT7, Magician (魔術師,Majutsu-shi?) is translated to spellcaster, which is mistranslation.
So, I think it's appropriate to redirect "Spellcaster" to Himegami Aisa and "Caster" to Magician.
I haven't checked OT10 and onwards yet. I'll check them asap.
Edit. I quick checked them in raw text and English translation. 術者 is written in raw text of OT10, 11, 13 and translator translated them to caster. Even if 術者 is written in OT18, and 21, translator translated them to "magic user".
For another red link stuffs, could you remove or edit some image/video links? They are listed in Special:Wantedfiles. Some of the original files were deleted a while ago, but image/video links are still remained in the article or comment. The cover of the book will added later, so you don't have to edit them.
Ollerus, can you check the comments within the past week for potential patterns between messages and the dates for commenting users joining the wiki? I've noticed some similarities and I'm getting slightly suspicious.
What I was thinking about doing was putting a note beside her in the Characters sections for the manga/novel chapters prior to Astral Buddy's release, in a similar manner to other cases.
(having trouble focusing - waiting for paracetamol to kick in)
Edit (31/10/2019): Sorry about earlier, Ollerus. I should have been clearer. I've got tab overloads on my browser and am feeling a bit down due to various things piling up, so I will probably be going to sleep soon, but before that I'm going to perform a little test with some of the images which you uploaded, in order to see if a problem in the sweep plan can be resolved.
Pardon me for asking this Ollerus, but I was wondering if I could test something together with you.
Earlier on the 5th, I came up with a possible alternative to the shared sandbox idea - a template which holds a shared draft, can be freely placed on multiple sandboxes as the involved contributors wish, shares visible content between them, can be edited from the sandboxes at a click and allows for return at a click afterwards.
I've got together a basic framework and made a few of them (though I might have been a bit too enthusiastic in doing so), and I was wondering if we could take one of them for a trial run, working together on a topic (such as Toaru IF stuff), getting a feel of it and seeing if it would be a viable option for future work.
That's more along the lines of the shared sandbox idea (which doesn't seem to have taken off yet - I'm not sure if this is because others find it a hassle or not, because of poor coordination on my part, or due to external factors) which this is a possible alternative to. What I had in mind was a shared draft template; something like this which the users working on it can place on their own sandbox, wherever they'd like, and then stick a return link on it (the template's top bar has an edit button for the template itself, a cache refresh button and a spot for return links to the locations it is placed in). The idea was to provide a bit more flexibility and perhaps a little less hopping around (though I'm not sure about the last bit).
Righto. The Biohacker chapters and character articles are all-clear for editing, but could you hold off on edits to the previous chapter/episode character section mentions for Measure Heart for a little bit?
Just so you know, I've assigned SD19 & SD20 to temporary wiki image collection tasks (i.e. gathering all the images of those types we currently have on the wiki).
Low mood at the moment. Currently trying to retrace and recall my steps, and get back on track with that wretched survey. When I finally manage to get it restarted, I'll make sure to write things down properly so I don't have to go through this all over again.
"At the request of the official, information about this anthology comic has to be deleted until there is more information, even if official site already published it."
I didn't get the request directly, but one of the staff in discord informed several people who posted information. I'll remain the article as temporary redirect until new information is officially released.
I see. I'm not familiar with the Discord discussions.
With regards to the shared draft experiments, I've assigned SD24 for a Bot Operation Tasklist, for making a note of tasks to give to the bot. If you have any tedious tasks in mind which can be tackled by the bot (e.g. mass-edits) and you would prefer not to tackle, you can make a note of them there and I'll set the bot to do them.
P.S. Hope things turn out well with final exams and stuff. Is there anything you'd like me to do while you are occupied?
Here's the first one. With regards to those image tasklists which I've been making every so often - I was wondering whether I should continue with them as they are presently (via blog post) or switch to using one of the Shared Drafts instead. Which do you think would be better?
Second one, with regards to my previous communications with you in the past - I've sometimes wondered whether I've been sending too many things your way at once and if I need to space things out a bit more. Would you say this is the case or not?
Last thing for tonight, though this one is a raw-related request rather than a wiki work opinion-related question. If you are able to and if it won't interfere with your other stuff, could you check OT16BTL1 - specifically the part concerning the boy's mother?
Added Spectrum Story to the News Archives. Speaking of news, do you know of any information about new manga works? (I recall glimpsing something about two somewhere, but I can't be sure whether it was real (I had a Toaru work-related dream recently) and if it was, I don't know if it was from a trustworthy source or not)
The latest Dengeki Daioh announced serialization of two new manga. The information is written in next to toaru information section, so some people thought two new manga are toaru-related, but they were actually serialization of different manga.
I've just noticed a little something which we might need to look into at some point - Biohacker Arc chapter seems to go from Part 7 to Part 9. The question is whether it is a missing header or a misnamed header...
Another minor thing - I've assigned some more Shared Drafts, some for short-term jobs and some for long-term jobs.
Just so you know Ollerus, I'm currently compiling an extensive recap of what's been, is and will be happening on the wiki, primarily for OH&S and Herald's benefit. It is going to take a little while, so I'll let you know when I've got it to a more complete point.
For Biohacker Arc, it seems to be a misnamed header. Let's use that header for the time-being and fix it later.
Another minor thing
Could you assign one SD for "citation needed"? I'd like to list the article which "Cite" template used.
Could you remove an image links in your SandboxOpen5. Even though you deleted the image from the wiki, the redlinks still remain. Here is the list. (#1 (File:Sogiita Gunha ss2.png) is problem) For #2 (File:New World - Frames.png), are you planning to upload that image? For #3 (File:Element Arc.jpg), infobox image for the Element Arc had already uploaded.
If it isn't inconvenient, could I confirm a few things with you at some point later? (not right away, as I've got a headache and can't focus at the moment)(it will mainly be recalling/remembering what has happened and what we've done recently so it can be recorded in the joint recap)
It looks like I might have to have a word with a fewusers once I'm better...
>I still had tasks to do even at this time so there won't be a new years illustration this time. By the way, starting from Genesis, I'll be posting the original drafts on twitter.
