- Frenda mentions how Item's apartments kept getting blown up, which has led to their current predicament.[1] This is referring to events in the previous volumes; the destruction of their Fifteen Bells penthouse in July, in an explosion triggered by "Hanano Choubi" in the Enemy Item's base in the apartment beneath it,[3][4][5][6][7] and the bombing of their new base by Honey Queen earlier in the month, before they had even settled in.[8][9][10]

- Given the subject of their mission, Item discuss several dubious 'scientific' ideas during the course of their infiltration:[1]
- The weight of the soul is an idea hypothesized by physician Duncan MacDougall at the start of the 20th century and the subject of his "21 grams experiment".
- The "little grays" likely refers to grey aliens, purported extraterrestrial lifeforms with bulbous heads, grey skin and diminutive stature.
- The cult leader used the alias Dike Goddess Salvation.[1] As well as a word for a waterway, Dike is a goddess of justice in Greek Mythology.
- As Item were walking along a suspended metal grate bridge with support pillars connecting to the ceiling, it was compared to walking through a torii tunnel, with the large number and regularity described as a trick to make it artificially seem more mystical.[1] Torii are traditional Japanese gates, commonly found at the entrance to or within Shinto shrines, symbolically marking the entrance to a sacred space.
