The eighteenth chapter of the Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator manga was released on August 27, 2015.
Synopsis
The battlefield settles and Accelerator comes out the victor. Scavenger has been defeated, but they still live. Now that they are safe, Esther hurriedly checks Aiho's condition, using her magic to heal her. She also has Hasami get Misaka 10046 to heal her as well. Seeing her hard at work healing the clone, Accelerator could only click his tongue after realizing that Esther and Hasami went out to go after Misaka 10046 on their own. Esther points out that even though they did so, it was still with Accelerator's efforts that the clone and Aiho have been saved, and she thanks him for that.
After seeing that both Aiho and Misaka 10046's conditions are fine, Accelerator tells Esther to stop using the "strange power" she is using and get them to an ambulance. Esther then says that they need to take care of the Scavenger girls as well, which Accelerator is not too happy about, preferring to have Anti-Skill deal with them instead. Esther naively points out that the Scavenger's actions were just them not thinking clearly and that Accelerator's actions have thought them a lesson, much to his disbelief.
Then Esther approaches Accelerator, bowing to him, and then having Hasami bow to him too. They thank him again for all that he has done for them, making him uncomfortable. Accelerator however is focused on Hasami's indecent exposure, and asks why she is naked. Esther says that she didn't have the time to give her the proper equipment. However, she immediately gets the idea to undress and give her the nurse uniform she is wearing instead to cover her up. Accelerator and Hasami however protest this move. Esther says that because of her lack of protection, whenever Hasami the Huotou tries to protect Esther, her Adonai, then she would be putting herself in danger. Esther admires Accelerator's strength but also his unwavering heart, and wishes to be like him one day. Accelerator scoffs at this and says that Esther already has an unwavering heart. Esther denies this, saying that she is weak and also hesitant, crying as she goes. She mentions the name "Hirumi", a name that Accelerator recalls, in which Esther notes was trying to be strong for the both of them,
Suddenly, Esther lights up and approaches Accelerator. There, she asks him to make her his apprentice, an idea that simply doesn't appeal to him. Esther tries to convince Accelerator, but he refuses. She then has Hasami join up with her in forcing him to accept her as his apprentice. As they run circles around him, Accelerator notices something. He grabs the surprised Esther and throws her aside, as the Coffin Qiong Qi descends into the battlefield.
It is Hishigata, still in his laboratory, and wondering what happened to DA's mission in retrieving Misaka 10046. There the Qion Qi's cameras pick up Accelerator. Hishigata becomes excited at seeing Accelerator, while Accelerator is also intrigued by the enemy that once got away from him. Thus a new battle begins.
