Release (解放 Kaihō?) is the 106th chapter of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga series, released on June 27th 2018 in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh.
Synopsis[]
To the surprise of Kouzaku, there are souvenirs of the Jailbreak Trial being sold not too far from the 2nd Reformatory. As Dolly looks around, Kouzaku chats with two members of Shokuhou Misaki's Clique who are there to guarantee Dolly's safety during the trial. Meanwhile, Kouzaku feels that the idea behind the Jailbreak Trial is rigged so that an expert hacker would win. She then gives up thinking too much about the trial's outcome as she returns to Dolly's side, receiving one of three keychains with the "iconic" man-faced guide robot she bought as a gift.
Back inside the 2nd Reformatory, Kyougoku Ryouta starts the blame game for being foiled in the Jailbreak Trial, only for his assistant to remind him of his decisions, including the use of security robots. During a coincidental visit to a random room inside the complex, Kyougoku is led into a set of lockers, where he discovers the intended target for the Jailbreak Trial, Iizuka.
Kimi unleashes the dragon.
The one who posed as Iizuka then reveals her true identity as a mysterious fan of mariophanie with a dragon at her side. At the 2nd Reformatory, while Iizuka was taken to a medical facility, Kyougoku suspects that only someone from the security department is capable of performing the switch. Aohoshi soon reveals her true colors, using nearby guards controlled by a feather charm to restrain Kyougoku before rendering him unconscious using chloroform. Elsewhere, Oumi Shuri dismisses her fellow Kouga ninja to continue on their investigation and has a short chat with Tsurigane, who soon revealed that her objective to free a certain Kimi is successful. After a quick clash of kunai, Shuri manages to escape with slight injuries. At a dark alley, Yamashiro Shoubu confronts the girl with long sleeves, aware of the malice present in the girl due to his ability Stress Dowsing. The girl quickly reveals this malice and dispatches Shoubu before leaving him behind.
Kimi's friends reunite with her after the jailbreak.
At an abandoned building, four girls gathered: Aohoshi, Tsurigane, the girl with long sleeves named Raifu, and the new escapee named Kimi, whose mood is sour after being disappointed by mariophanie's current songs. By her side is a picture of Uiharu.
