Railgun (
Synopsis[]
While still attempting to contact Kessai Kiyoshi, Mikoto finds herself in an encounter with the leaders of the three major cliques of Tokiwadai. After Hasekura Reiri, Mikagami Nagisa and Sha Danshan clashed over the latter's interest in Mikoto, Hasekura brings Mikoto at the school's back garden, not for a chat, but a challenge of powers. Their objective is to pierce a throwaway hurdle for horses by using a ball bearing, increasing their distance from the target if both are successful in doing so. At the first attempt, Hasekura manages to pierce the hurdle using her liquid-related ability. Meanwhile, Mikoto developed a way to launch the ball bearing with the use of directed Lorentz force and missed the mark, destroying a nearby dolphin statue and launching Hasekura away.
Hasekura returns to her clique members conceding the challenge in favor of Mikoto, and immediately orders one of her clique members from the Art Club to repair the destroyed statue. The other clique members also talk about the other Level 5 from Tokiwadai, Shokuhou Misaki, who has bested the clique's mental espers. Meanwhile, Kiyoshi meets Mikoto at the Tokiwadai Dormitory, revealing that they are roommates.
