Dispute (抗爭 Hanzen?) is the 133rd chapter of the Toaru Kagaku no Railgun manga series. The chapter was released in 2 parts when serialized in Dengeki Daioh and combined together when compiled for the tankōbon version.
The first part of the chapter is entitled Family Status (家格 Kakaku?).
Synopsis[]
Part 1: Family Status[]
One morning at Tokiwadai Middle School, Enjou Kasumi from the Hasekura Clique talked to a fellow clique member about her watch gone missing. Kazan'in Tsukasa from the Mikagami Clique overheard their conversation and insulted the value of a gift from Enjou's family, causing Enjou to lose her temper to the point of almost unleashing her ribbon control ability onto Tsukasa. The two parties were successfully separated by their respective friends before anything could happen, with Shokuhou looking on from a nearby window.
Part 2: Dispute[]
Later that afternoon, Kazan'in parts ways with her friend and passes through a park, where she was attacked by ribbons that constricted around her to the point of loss of consciousness. The next day, a gathering of members from the Hasekura and Mikagami Cliques took place at the Tokiwadai campus, where both sides throw accusations at the other side. After being updated by clique member Lily about what took place between Enjou and Kazan'in, the third clique leader Sha Danshan decides to not ignore the hostilities despite being uninvolved, especially with leader Hasekura Reiri being unable to respond to her clique's problem due to her business in Paris. As for the allegations by both cliques against each other, Sha welcomes the possibility that neither of the cliques are lying about the incident.
As the hostile sentiment within the two cliques continues to simmer, an attack involving a member of the Mikagami Clique caused two members of the clique named Urui Aika and Asakura Olivia Moa to target Kessai Kiyoshi who is part of the Hasekura Clique. Kessai releases a cloud of steam using her ability to escape, but uneven terrain caused by Asakura's keratin claws unbalances her. Before Asakura could strike Kessai, Misaka Mikoto blocks the attack using iron sand.
