Trivia

  • Oriana receives an updated character design, with her skirt or sarong becoming shorter and her top having a zipper in the middle.
  • The voice actor of unnamed customer in the bar is Tadakoro Hinata.

Referbacks

  • The incident wear Kanzaki actually wore the Fallen Angel Maid outfit from episode 9 is referenced again.[1]
  • Oriana mentions the bargain she made back in episode 2.[2]

Cultural References

  • As the setting is primarily in England, several real-life landmarks and places are used in the episode:
    • The hallway Villian passes through before arriving to meet her mother and sisters appears to be based on St. George's Hall in the real world Windsor Castle, though less ornate.
    • Buckingham Palace is prominently featured in the first half of the episode, as such many of the rooms shown in the episode are based on actual rooms in the palace.
      • The Grand Staircase is shown in the foreground as Touma and Index are escorted by Kanzaki through the Grand Entrance Hall or the Marble Hall.
      • As Knight Leader escorts Touma and Index for their audience with the British Royal Family, they are in a green hallway, presumably a reference to the Green Drawing Room of Buckingham Palace. In fact, one of its paintings The Three Youngest Daughters of George III can be seen briefly.
      • The Blue Drawing Room is Touma and Index's last stop in the palace, and the place where the characters discuss what to do about the Eurotunnel bombing.
      • The coat of arms that is usually on the gates of the palace is however missing. This is most likely because of trademark reasons, as the coat of arms displayed is the Royal Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom, and is subject to strict usage restrictions.
    • With Lancis being outside the metropolitan area of London, the BT Tower and London Eye can be seen from the distance.

The Landseer's Lions and equestrian statue of George IV, of Trafalgar Square

When Touma leaves with Oriana, the Landseer's Lions and an equestrian statue of George IV of Trafalgar Square can briefly be seen.
    • The subway system featured in the episode is the London Underground, though a different roundel logo is used from the real-life one, likely for copyright reasons.
      • When Bayloupe tries to escape the Amakusa, Elizard's name is plastered in one of the tunnels, indicating that her name is being used as one of the Underground's lines or the station.
  • Curtana is actually a real sword used in coronation ceremonies in the United Kingdom.
  • Elements of Norse Mythology, specifically that of Thor are used by members of New Light. Skíðblaðnir, Gjallahorn, and Mjölnir are all referenced.
  • The arrow-based spell used to take out Lessar is named after Robin Hood.

Differences in Adaptation

Animation Trivia

  • When Carissa grabs Touma's arm as she try to partake in a selfie with him, the Gekota on his phone is animated differently.
  • The Traveling Fortresses are all CGI.
  • When Kanzaki defeats Floris, her body flying through the air is CGI.
