Toaru Majutsu no Index Volume 05 is the fifth volume released for the Toaru Majutsu no Index Manga.
The volume features another skipping of light novel volume, specifically, the 4th light novel volume, and instead adapts the 5th light novel volume.
The tankobon deals with Touma's half of the events of August 31 of the timeline, as he struggles to finish his summer homework before the start of the new semester the next day. It includes Touma's fake date with Misaka Mikoto, and later fight with an Aztec Magician, as well as Touma's race to rescue Index, who was kidnapped by a magician.
