Sharing a name with [[Kongou Mitsuko]]'s [[Ekaterina|pet python]], the Ekaterina II S is a general-purpose machine, with a vehicle form used for transportation and a humanoid form for work. It is equipped with rollers on its 'feet' for mobility, clamps for grabbing objects, and is armed with a pile bunker on its arm. It is also capable of jettisoning its 'limbs'.

Per Kongou Mitsuko's request to her [[Kongou Mitsuko's Father|father]], the Ekaterina II S was brought to battle against [[STUDY]]'s mobile weapons during the rebellion known as the [[Silent Party]], piloted by [[Saten Ruiko]] and [[Uiharu Kazari]], who had spent the night before studying the machine's manual<!--and was later used by [[Misaka Mikoto]] as a makeshift projectile against STUDY's [[AIM Bomb|final weapon]]-->.
